I don't follow soccer but while channel surfing saw that UC is playing for the AAC title against USF right now.

I know the lingo but not a fan of kickball except for girls.

I know the field is "the pitch"
Uniforms are "kits"
Male players are "Lads"

My daughter played on traveling teams and US Olympic Development. As I said a good game for girls.

You know it's called "the Pitch", but do you know why it's called that?

Yes I do. The Brits called it that. Since they started to game their nomenclature rules. Dates to pitch being a field and was called pitch in Cricket.

As they say The US and England are divided by a common language. Have you checked under your bonnet lately?
