Kats can do it all. Much more balanced and better on both sides of the ball. Defense has surpassed the offense even. Should be viewed as one of a favorites to get to Frisco.

Running over D2 defectors and the other "Texas 4" who haven't got a playoff win amongst them in ten years will be interesting.

FCS playoff field announced.

#2 Sam draws Monmouth April 24th in Huntsville. This team could make a run!

Sam has a tough bracket. NDSU is the probable second round match up.

It does seem a tough row to hoe.
But you gotta beat the best to be the best. Hope to see y'all in frisco. Sounds like a great NC game to me.

This is gonna be a fun conference to follow.

Yes it will be. I am also looking forward to following the WAC in football again. I hope they make it all the way back to FBS but even if the WAC stays FCS, they have the makings of a very strong conference in that subdivision.

Monmouth gives Sam all they can handle in 4th qtr., but the Bearkats escape at home with the 21-15 victory.

Sam advances to host NDSU next Sunday after the Bison whoop Eastern Washington at home 42-20. NDSU will be Sam's toughest test all year.

RE: Sam Houston SLC Football Champs, in FCS Playoffs...again.
A few reasons I'm hopeful this week:

1) Have literally never been defeated at home in the playoffs. Previous playoff shellackings (is that a word) have come while we were visitors.
2) Our defense is quite serviceable this year. 4th in TOs forced, 11th in scoring defense, 3rd in rushing defense. Will probably be a good matchup for NDSU's 8th ranked rushing offense.
3) In comparison, NDUS is 57th in turnovers forced, and 18th in scoring defense.
4) SHSU 4th in scoring offense.
5) It's starting to get hot and humid down in Texas, so I'm interested in seeing how the Bison fare with minimal time to get used to it.

This is probably the best chance we've had at a national title since 2011 and we're still 3 point underdogs. To be expected when facing the national champion of 8 out of the last 9 seasons but this isn't the same Bison we're used to either.

Overall we have a balanced team with a chip on our shoulder. I'm looking forward to it and will be at the game on Sunday.

Good summary. Run Sammy, Run! End the Bison’s season.

Sam Houston gets a late touchdown and then holds on to defeat NDSU. 24-20

#2 Sam scores late to get by NDSU, and #3 James Madison takes care of business against North Dakota. Sets up a #3 vs. #2 semi-final showdown in Huntsville next week.

Deleware upsets #4 Jax St. to advance and it's looking like the fighting Salukis of Southern Illinois will upend the #1 Jackrabbits of South Dakota St.

Bottom line: this Sam team could very well win the FCS National Championship. Salukis pull it off tonight and the road to the championship goes through Huntsville.

Good win by the Bearkats though the game shouldn’t have been that close.

Congrats to Sam Houston. I only got to watch the 4th quarter and there was some scary moments for sports fans late. But, the Bearcats held on and move on to the next round. Stay undefeated at home in playoffs. Nice stat to have on your side as it looks like the road to the Championship game will go through Huntsville.

Sam will play #3 seed James Madison for the semi-final. JMU is another perennial playoff team and if memory serves me was the last team to defeat NDSU in the playoffs. Should be a good game.

Yes sir. Those two kick returns had a huge impact. The Bison were in the game at the end due to special teams.
