If we land CJ and Langston, we're in the mix for an at-large bid. I think CJ is a long shot though, unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong.

I'll take Clark too. He's worth the risk.

all of those and cincy still wouldnt be close to a bid

cj just left a contender as a starter cincy in its current state is a pipe dream, clark is also extremely unlikely cincy joined his recruitment too late and has numerous texas offers (he is from texas)

I think CJ Fredrick is unlikely. I wouldn't call it a pipe dream. He's literally from across the river.

Are you referring to Tristan Clark? I think Langston Wilson is the top target at the 4. Not to say Clark is realistic, otherwise.

I'm not going to make any predictions on next year until I see the final roster. But I will say this - we had such a poorly constructed roster for a multitude of reasons and everyone hated the coach. So...

I'm not saying any of those guys are very likely. But now that we have enough guys to fill out a rotation, our staff can swing for the fences. If they miss out on the guys they were too late to get to, I think there will be other really talented guys hitting the portal over the next few weeks.

And I agree that Langston Wilson is far from a can't-miss prospect considering his production and minutes at the JUCO level don't jump off the page. He obviously has a ton of potential, but it's probably 50/50 if that potential will be realized at a high-major level.

JUCO big men are really hard to judge. Many JUCOs barely run anything you could call offense so it's normally heavily guard dominated. We've had really good luck with JUCO big men that didn't have stats that jump of the page either (Echenique is the most recent)

Now the cat is essentially out of the bag - first reported by Chad Brendel and now UGA's Rivals site is confirming:

Chad Dollar will be the 3rd assistant at UC. Tremendous recruiter with ties in the south. He has brought the following players to UGA, Auburn and Ga Tech:

Anthony Edwards - 5 star #1 overall pick
Chuma Okeke - 4 Star #15 overall pick
Josh Okogie - 3 star #20 overall pick
Davion Mitchell - 4 star future lottery pick

Other 4 stars:
Christian Brown
Jaykwon Walton
KD Johnson
Tounami Carrera

Probably the most accomplished recruiter we have had on staff since Tony Stubblefield (new head coach at Depaul) back in 2010

Being tied to Toumani Camara is interesting. I know he went into the portal and committed to Dayton. TBH, I don't know how the signing works with transfers, but I wonder if it's too late to try and change his mind. That would be a guy that would seemingly fit what we need at the 4 type slot. Probably can't happen, but interesting note.

RE: Cincinnati hires Wes Miller (UNCG) as its Next MBB Coach
.
Wondering what Cincy's starting lineup might be. It looks like it could be something like this:

David Dejuilius - Sr (PG) (29.5 mpg; 9.1 ppg; 4.5 rpg; 4.2 apg)

Mike Adams-Woods - Junior (G) (29.7 mpg; 8.6 ppg; 2.5 rpg)

Jeremiah Davenport - Junior (PF/SF) (28.6 mpg; 11.7 ppg; 5 rpg)

Hayden Koval - Senior © (19.6 mpg; 7 ppg; 3.8 rpg)

AND PERHAPS UGUMA, NEWMAN, or MADSEN as 5th STARTER?

Oguma Jr. PF 21.9 mpg, 7.6 pts, 5.4 rb, 0.4 ast, 0.4 stl, 0.4 blk per game.

John Newman III - Senior (SF) (15.6 mpg; 3.7 ppg; 2 rpg)

Mason Madsen - Sophomore (G) (19.6 mpg; 6.5 ppg; 3.0 rpg)

.

Also, do they still have one roster spot to fill, since Bryson Spell's de-commitment?

.

TRANSFER PORTAL UPDATES:

Two freshmen guards reversed their decisions to transfer from Cincy:

Mike Saunders (15.5 mpg; 3.5 ppg; 1.4 rpg)

Mason Madsen (19.6 mpg; 6.5 ppg; 3.0 rpg)

.

Transfers to Cincinnati:

Hayden Koval (7'1" Sr. C - UNCG) (19.6 mpg; 7 ppg; 3.8 rpg)

John Newman III (6-5 Sr. F - Clemson) (15.6 mpg; 3.7 ppg; 2 rpg)

A.J. McGinnis - Sophomore G (transfer from UNCG)...averaged 6 pts, 1.2 rpg for the Spartans last season as a freshman.

Jarrett Hensley Sophomore 6'7" F (transfer from UNCG)

Ody Oguma Junior 6'9" PF (transfer from Wake Forest)

.
.

Current Roster:

1. David Dejuilius - Sr (PG) (29.5 mpg; 9.1 ppg; 4.5 rpg; 4.2 apg)

2. Hayden Koval - Senior © (19.6 mpg; 7 ppg; 3.8 rpg)

3. John Newman III - Senior (SF) (15.6 mpg; 3.7 ppg; 2 rpg)

4. Mike Adams-Woods - Junior (G) (29.7 mpg; 8.6 ppg; 2.5 rpg)

5. Rob Banks - Junior (SF) (4.5 mpg; 0 ppg; 1.4 rpg)

6. Jeremiah Davenport - Junior (PF/SF) (28.6 mpg; 11.7 ppg; 5 rpg)

7. Mason Madsen - Sophomore (G) (19.6 mpg; 6.5 ppg; 3.0 rpg)

8. Mike Saunders Jr. - Sophomore (PG) (15.5 mpg; 3.5 ppg; 1.4 rpg)

9. Viktor Lakhin - Sophomore (6'11" C) (recruit from Russia)

10. A.J. McGinnis - Sophomore G (transfer from UNCG)...averaged 6 pts, 1.2 rpg for the Spartans last season as a freshman.

11. Jarrett Hensley Sophomore 6'7" F (transfer from UNCG)

12. Ody Oguma Junior 6'9" PF (transfer from Wake Forest):

21.9 mpg, 7.6 pts, 5.4 rb, 0.4 ast, 0.4 stl, 0.4 blk per game.

Started 18 of 20 games for WFU, hit 46.5 of his FGA; .672 FT%.

13. OPEN, DUE TO BRYSON SPELL'S DE-COMMITMENT?

.

"The current Cincinnati roster only has one pure front court player with college experience in UNCG transfer Kayden Koval and the coaching staff prioritized finding the right to bring in another seasoned frontcourt player. Oguama will bring two years of ACC experience and a physical presence to be able to match up with some of the more physically imposing programs in the American Athletic Conference in Houston and Memphis among others. Dayton was in his final 3 out of high school so I'd imagine he will stick with the Flyers.

One year ago, UConn stole our rock star strength & conditioning coach. As of today, we have stolen him back. Welcome home, Mike Rehfeldt. The offseason winning continues for UC hoops.

Love the hire and what he has done so far to show that he is indeed the right coaching hire... Congrats to Bearcat Nation for remaining relevant in the conference starting next season.

Very high expectations!!!!

Pesik, I thought you'd enjoy this podcast from Brendel with Wes Miller. He breaks down the staff and the entire roster (minus Ado).

A few points that stood out to me:

-He's super high on Jarrett Hensley
-Sees Newman as the guy to guard elite wings, replacing Keith Williams
-Thinks DeJulius can be a much more dynamic player if he shoots like he does at Michigan
-Watched a ton of Houston/Memphis tape and how they bullied UC, thinks the roster additions will close that gap defensively and on the glass but needs to figure out scoring

Related to the staff:

-Andre Morgan lives and breathes recruiting
-Kyle Washington is coming back as a GA
-Cunningham was instrumental in bringing back Mike Rehfeldt (who Wes thinks will have a massive impact for Koval and McGinnis, especially)

It's not which Temple coach this post was referring to, but many Owls fans are quite optimistic about the work that Coach McKie has done after taking over what had been an up-and-down, lackluster program that hadn't recruited well in years, and then being hit with a slew of injuries, five of which required surgery and one of which practically blinded his #2 player in one eye for half a season, during his first two seasons as the team's HC.

True, McKie had no prior experience as a HC, but even an experienced HC would have had to rebuild the team from the ground up, which he has done, and hiring a Temple HOF and NBA player who had maintained his tied with the program and was close to Coach Chaney has given him the ability to rebuild the program as a quintessentially Temple basketball program with its own unique history and its sense of family and identity.

Those who know Temple's history well understand that one of the most important factors underlying the program's success through the decades has been the connection that it has built with the community and the university's historical mission to educate and develop local talent ("diamonds in the rough"), as in expressed in the title of the book written by the university's founder, "Acres of Diamonds."

Coach McKie himself was once a "diamond in the rough" in some respects, much as Coach Chaney had been, and there are some promising signs that there may again be acres of diamonds in the program's future.

I am somewhat more optimistic of what Temple BB will accomplish this coming season since that post... But still believe better options were there and should have been taken, hope I'm proven wrong.

6 years. 8 million. As far as Brannen's buyout, stay tuned. I ultimately expect a settlement in the neighborhood of half the buyout to avoid the mess of court.

Yup

Mars and Brannen could have probably gotten here sooner without the big show.
