That's complete BS. He's done nothing whatsoever to deserve to be insulted and ganged-up on.

The only explanation is that there is something about him, which he is not personally responsible for, part of his basic identity as a human being. That's why certain people are trying to torment him.03-idea

Hang in there, Joe! You make this forum a better place, and you shouldn't be run off just because of who you are - - not in America. 03-2thumbsup

ODU trolls hate me because of our time in C-USA together. I was very outspoken against their annual campaigns to belittle the conference and attempts to force an East/West split. I also called them out for refusing to play the COVID season. They long believed that they were destined to get called up to the AAC, and are still bitter about getting left out UNT get a seat at the table has only fueled their hate. I regret that they have brought their petty feud to the AAC board. But, they are what they are.

I was impressed with UNT's game day presentation and enjoyed the tailgating experience. All of the UNT fans were friendly. My daughter graduated from SMU but is currently working on her PHD at UNT so we had a good contingent there.

Good luck for the rest of the season Mean Green and look forward to you joining the conference and continuing the series.

/Cheers

Wow. You are the only fan that I know that was happy about the game day experience. It's usually better. Tailgating was decent, but the lines to get into the stadium were terrible and the video boards were not clicking.

Glad your daughter is at UNT, and I hope she is enjoying her time in Denton. Hopefully we will get a real coach and buy some better players before we get to Ford next year. SMU looks to be in for a very good season. Congratulations.

I heard quite a bit of negativity from Mean Green fans on this (and read tons more on your boards). What all gives for this? It seems like this wasn’t the case in years past right?

UNT usually has at least one 25K attendance game a season, but we have never had long waits to enter the parking lots. Even when we've had 30K at Apogee, there were no long lines to enter the Blue lot. At my usual parking entrance there was only one person scanning tickets. I missed the kickoff because of this. I'm old and not a big fan of technology, so I prefer printed tickets. When I got to the Will-Call window, there was only one window open, and it had a long line too. Plus, it took forever for them to find my tickets. The video boards were not showing replays and was displaying old stats from last year's game. And of course, the product UNT placed on the field was terrible. I've had season tickets for over 20 years. Everything about our game day was off compared to what we usually experience.

No, it is not. Joe is the ultimate homer/tool. I have been reading his bs/homer one-sided posts on the CUSA board for years. Trust me - he will wear out his welcome on the AAC board, just like the CUSA board. Just give it time.

their fan base suffers from a lot of delusion and they sit over in their gmg walled garden blowing smoke up each others butts and making up nonsense about sleeping giants and impending D1-A domination

they do not know how to critically evaluate the massive structural issues with their university and their athletics that allow them to continue to be the comatose little person of D1-A athletics instead the napping giant they pretend they will be next season....always next season

they pretty much dumped everything at the feet of their former AD while ignoring the massive amount of issues he had to fight against and once he was gone they thought it was all easy street

now with a much larger budget off the backs of students they are still looking at a lot of the dame issues some for the same old reasons and some for new reasons yet still the same overall issues

their fans make a lot of the same mistakes that a lot of other G5 programs make, but their inability to critically and realistically evaluate things and to understand that programs that are well ahead of them are there not because of "luck" or because "SMU held them back all these years" makes those same mistakes all the worse

and because of the massive green sunshine pumping and lack of reality in their fan base when reality does hit them well it hits them like a 72 Buick going 95 mph

it is magnified for hum because he is one of few fans of theirs that will leave the walled garden of gmg, but when he does he thinks "this is the season!" and then.....reality
