I just watched an episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century last Sunday. Unfortunately, it was one of thefew I had seen before.

I would say it hasn't held up well, but I am not sure it was ever any good to begin with.

Awesome! Demarr was such a great addition the last time...and for those that have never met him, Kyle Washington is one of the most exuberantly joyful Bearcats I’ve ever spent time around. Great energy. Both guys are going to be huge benefits to the program.

Absolutely. Love listening to DerMarr when he’s on podcasts. And Kyle is such a smart and charismatic guy. I think he could go far in coaching if he decides to go that route.

Just Curious , what exactly did he do before that made him a great addition?

I’m really impressed that him and some of the other guys still love UC so much. Even flight white. I met Dermarr a couple years ago. Polite, engaging. Smiling.

Not sure what’s taking so long to finish the deal, but I hope he can influence some players from his home area.

I can’t remember where Kyle grew up but he also played in North Carolina. We better get every good player that doesn’t get offered by UNC or Duke.

Hoping for some California connections. I know kids like to stay home but it worked for us before. And there’s a lot of talent out there.

Also I wanna take whatever Memphis doesn’t pick up From their backyard. I am guessing Wes and Dollar both could recruit that area.

It’s been a while, but Mike Roberts was an assistant at Cal.

Bolded, I think UC HR moves like a "thundering herd of turtles" to borrow a line from local radio great Gary Burbank. I too hope that his NBA pedigree and Washington's play on a pretty fine UC team will open doors locally for UC to be the destination for the Tri-State's blue chip players.

I am sure having a guy who was a top 10 pick and has experience in the NBA will help our team, but more importantly I think its great to get more alums coaching.

I think the alumni coaching connection has helped us a lot in football over the past couple years, and we are seeing more and more of our football alums join the coaching ranks across the country, and across high schools in Ohio. I hope we see the same from some more basketball players as it can only help in the future.

Yep. Any guy who can tell a guy who visits campus why he came here, why he is still involved and what it takes to play in The League is a huge benefit.

Kyle is going to be great working with these guys everyday in practice.

Probably the best place to put this. Kenny Satterfield, one of DerMarr's closest friends, was just announced as the new Hughes coach. His daughter recently transferred from Ohio State to another program in town. Bringing all the old boys back around.

Ya beat me to it (hopefully this will get fixed to actually prove Satt has a head and face):

Mo Egger has an excellent podcast with Dermarr and he explains the position in great detail.

Dermarr's job is to make these kids better. He's responsible for analyzing their game and putting together workout programs to help them improve. He'll be using game/practice tape as well as hands-on practice time to show them ways to be better players. He's very similar to the strength coach but instead of working to improve their bodies he working to improve their skill set.

The difference between him and an actual assistant coach is that Dermarr is not allowed on the court during games.
