This is as good as Penny can do? Stop hiring friends and hire coaches who can help. It would be nice if he can get a guy with NBA coaching experience and then a veteran college coach. He needs to surround himself with experience. We were not good on the offensive end. Terrible shot selection and we didn’t value the ball. Obviously, he’s reloaded with talent but he needs help not friends. This isn’t a shot at Penny. It’s just the facts.

he's already done that with Sam Mitchell (former NBA head coach) and Tony Madlock (20+ years of NCAA coaching experience)

Penny now needs the guys he feels will best strengthen his weaknesses.

I agree. Just get coaches who you think will fill in the best. Toppert seems to be his top assistant had no prior relationship to Penny. Then with Jermaine Johnson (people say its b/c he's friends too) he was an NCAA assistant coach for 7 years.
I'm okay with any of those 3 listed. People want 5stars up and down the roster with a world class coaching staff.

What you need is chemistry.

I really hope this isn't the best Hardaway can do. Looks weak as wet toilet paper for a program that claims to aspire to compete for a national championship. Too many buddies from HS and grassroots. He's got enough of that already.

Would Penny hire Raheem Shabazz as the new Strength / Conditioning Coach ? Believe he and Penny have worked together in the past ...

Maybe that's the relationship I'm thinking of. Either he or Jevonte were considered on the initial staff, but they decided not to do it at the time.

I think there are rule issues there...

If Shabazz has coached any recruits or current players then he has to be at least an assistant coach until that player is on the roster for a certain period of time.

I believe S&C Coach qualifies under that ruling, but not sure.
Jevonte and Raheem would both likely get caught with that ruling (Jevonte for sure).
