That's some hefty disrespect for Louisiana by ESPN

SBC East too stacked. No easy wins for breather.

I believe Bill Connelly has it as the toughest division in the G5.

USA, GS, ARKST, and UL will likely outperform these rankings. I think Coastal takes a step back. Troy is suspiciously high. Everyone else looks about right.

Well since we have seemed to have lost the 4 star GT transfer GS's prediction is probably dead on for now. I am still holding out hope Ruse can recreate the offense we came in with.

Lunsford has made us mediocre and the media knows it. All we can hope for with Lunsford at this point is he will be able to hire well enough to keep us at least winning because he sure is not going to recruit his way to the top.

What proof do you have to indicate if it is indefinite?

Just wondering, if there are facts or if you are jumping at conclusions?

I hope we finish in the top 100. We need to do well out of conference to make that happen. We need to look more like the team that started last season vs the one that finished last season.

I'd go:

Post: #11RE: ESPN FPI Rankings - SBC (and others)
CCU #36 Sell- They win 8-10 but fall back due to losses up front
App #38 Hold- They win the East in Boone
Troy #52 Sell- Don't get this one
UL #69 Buy - Seriously I think this is the best team in the SBC next year
ArkSt #82 Buy- The weaknesses of Blake Ball will be glaring with a more disciplined team. I think the 60's is a better spot.
GSU #86 Buy - lots of playmakers
GS #88 Buy - and you will too when they beat Arkansas
TxSt #97 Sell - don't like their recruiting model
USA #118 Hold
ULM #121 Buy - They quit in a lot of ways last year, including literally having players quit. Put them 15-20 spots higher and maybe 3rd in the West with better coaching

Thats fair to not like our recruiting strategy but if it hurts us at all it wont be felt for a few seasons.

I think it hurts team chemistry, which can be felt immediately. I have seen it first hand unfortunately.

I felt our team quit late in the year. Anyone there at the season finale against Troy saw it. After Riley Cole got announced he was being invited to the Senior Bowl pregame, we played a few series then I saw the quit in the team. Not sure why we played the second half.

It's really not that puzzling. Troy is returning 21 of 22 starters, plus the majority of the solid backup players. Add that in with transfers from Florida State, Alabama, NC State, Missouri, and Maryland... and Troy is stacked on paper.

Now, whether we have the coaches to make it happen... we'll see.

I believe all of the transfers are immediately available due to the new rule, which is great.

It don’t hurt team chemistry if you win . . . ..

. . . Besides, it’s not like ours is a program with a lot to lose . . .

Withers (previous coach) spent 3 years tearing the program apart recruiting poorly with kids out of H.S.

I’ll roll the current dice with Spavital . . . .
