RE: 2021/2 EMU MBB Roster
I don’t think this is too much of a problem. Ty Groce was gone regardless of who was coaching EMU. He has a well earned opportunity to play in the Big East- would have been crazy to pass that up.

So the net from Stan Heath impact:
+ McBride came back
- Lowder and Noah decided to leave
(I think Montero and Love decided to leave before Heath was announced. Not sure)

Montero and Love were gone before Heath. But
I think Heath will bring in a team that will win more than 3 D1 games next season. And one hopefully that can make FTs.

This could really challenging, very late in the recruiting process! If he can somehow get 3-4 really good transfers is what we can hope for, or get a couple undecided 3 star high school players who for some reason didn't commit anywhere else! It's all about recruiting 1st, and then build a structured offense around what you've to play with! Mcbride is the only starter I see currently on this roster!

Stan is a pro and has a lot of experience. Last year UofDs coach assembled a roster in June - August and beat Murphy. Let’s be patient and see where we are at in three years.

Stan is assembling now. Adding a lot.

Anyone care to update the depth chart?

Have fun! 04-cheers

RE: 2021/2 EMU MBB Roster
Maybe we should ask how many of these players have other D1 offers like we do for CC recruits.

RE: 2021/2 EMU MBB Roster
I googled Savicevic, and it seemed like he was originally committed to UNC-Greensboro but asked for a release of the NLI after coaching change. See link. So indicates a decent mid-major recruit if that is what you are suggesting. Or are you suggesting that we should check for other offers since they might not honor their verbal commit?

EDIT:
This is why UNC-Greensboro had a coaching change- Wes Miller built a decent program before leaving to U of Cincinnati payday. So if EMU indeed received one of his former commits, this is a good thing. Hoping we do see him on the fall roster.

I'll check later but I think most of our new recruits have at least one other D-I offer.

The one I'm not sure of is Rice. I never thought of Delta College as a JUCO hotbed of talent for D-I programs.

Thanks. So how many of our Stan Heath basketball commits had another D1 offer besides EMU? The transfers who played at D1 school already had a another D1 "offer".

Speaking of numbers I believe one of you posted that Spottsville Okongo do not count against the maximum 13 scholarships? Am I remembering that right?

No on Clements as well I believe for D1 offers.

I’m your huckleberry!

PG - Spottsville/Savicevic/Clements
SG - McBride/Rice
SF - Golson
PF - Binelli/Ballard
C - Okongo

Spottsville, Binelli, and Okongo do not count against the cap. So, we still have 7 scholarships to give! Maybe even 8 if Ballard can be moved back to walk-on...

Here's another way to play with the current roster:

PG - Spottsville/Clements
SG - McBride/Savicevic
SF - Rice
PF - Golson/Binelli
C - Ballard/Okongo

I think we need a better starting PG and C to be competitive in the MAC. I really like the trio of McBride, Rice, and Golson.

Wow, I blink twice and we end up with 4 commits. Great work by Stan! Excited to do some research.

Worth noting that Luka Savicevic played pro ball in Macedonia and is a member of the Macedonian National Team. Watch and enjoy:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FvT0qdE_AhM

Safe to say he’s probably going to be our point guard. Crazy vision and slithery as hell with the ball.
