Are you here to brag about hiring a coach who had one good year at Kent and then get fired from his last two coaching positions??? One of which he had an amazing .427 winning percentage?? Mediocre school hires a mediocre HC..... That should be the headline.

Somehow you forgot his 3 coach of the year awards and the fact his teams made the post seasons.

Overall, I'd say the jury is still out on Heath, much like it is with Groce at Akron. The one plus that Heath has in my book, as a former/current MAC guy, is he returned to Kent for a game with one of his South Florida (Big East) teams which is extremely rare when a MM coach cracks the P5.

Also didn't he win NCAA Tournament games at all three schools; two for sure.

JUST TO PLAY DEVIL'S ADVOCATE: The current hire (looking ahead) at any MAC school comes down to TK's resume or Stan Heath's. Which one do you pick.

This question is not to denigrate or praise one coach over the other. It is a sincere exercise looking at the presented credentials - plus and minus - of two candidates.

Frankly, I see it as a very tough call, very much in the eye of the beholder. Maybe others see it as a no-brainer.

Who do you pick?

The guy who has been putting together consistent winning MAC teams, good staffs and excellent academic effort for the last decade over the guy who has bounced around, been fired a couple times but had a couple really good seasons in the fairly distant past.

Agreed. I don’t think we’ve actually hired anyone with a real resume before in any sport. Like ever. Hence the excitement.

almost all of it in the SEC and American. also a G league COY and a MAC COY who led the best tourney run in MAC history. and an EMU alumnus and former player from Michigan. So, maybe he's an average SEC coach, but that's an upgrade from everyone EMU has had since ben braun left.
