Season Tickets Carryover
Has anybody been contacted yet by the athletic department about carrying over their ‘20 season tickets to ‘21? I thought I read they would be contacting people to confirm season ticket orders for this year.

Season Tickets Carryover
In my case, I wrote off my 2020 season tickets as a donation, but not my premium experience option. I can’t wait to see my HAF packet to see if they carry over my premium option, because I am not paying for that again. I saw my online season ticket invoice and it was correct (except they had the seats incorrect). I am not paying for the tickets until I find out if they get the premium option correct.

Nothing yet. And I signed into the ticketmaster site and no tickets waiting or invoice or anything for me.

Yes, it is. I changed my seat location because of people continuously walking over us to go downstairs (to get hot dogs that don't exist). But, my invoice for this year showed my old seats. If you have any ticket issues, contact Collin Bruning, who is back at NIU. He is one of the good guys.

Omg. I donated my tickets. That would be, uh, well, I guess I'd be speechless.

I just wrote to the ticket office and told them to charge you guys interest and penalties on that outstanding $10 handling fee balance. I told them that you guys are deadbeats and need to pay up! 03-lmfao

This issue has been corrected.

They contacted me via email. I told them to keep the money as a donation instead of seats because we're moving out of state.

Did you get any formal letter from NIU that said it was a donation? I didn't and also donated the money I spent on season tickets. Same for the donation I made for the NIU baseball stadium. How does one get a letter from NIU with the amounts we provided to them as donation for that year?

No, I never got a letter from them. And, I decided not to push them for one because I know it would be a losing battle. If you want a letter (and are willing to be patient), you may want to contact Athletics or the Foundation (which handles the donations). You MAY have better luck with the Foundation because I doubt there is anyone in Athletics who will help you. Good luck!

I did when I donated to HAF. But nothing for my season ticket cost or baseball stadium donations.

I suggest if donors want a letter, they should write to STF. It will make the man happy because it will give him more donors to ignore.

I sent an email to huskieathleticfund@niu.edu this morning and received an email back shortly after. They said they will reach out to the NIU Foundation for me and have them email a gift receipt.

Wow, that's great! Congrats.

They should do this with everyone who donated their tickets or benefits. I donated my tickets plus the HAF payments for the chairback seats to them. I am deducting this whether or not they give me a receipt. I can prove it to the IRS that I was not allowed to attend any games in 2020. Plus, I kept a copy of the e-mail where I told them that I was donating the payments. Of course, it would be easier if they just did their job and sent receipts for all donations.
