Any specific players that stood out on defense?

The entire defensive line stood out. About a 8 guy rotation and they all made plays. The front seven as a whole did well but I’d say the defensive line stood out the most.

That is pretty much what I saw. They smothered the running backs and chased the qb’s like they stole something for the most part.

Saw some sparks from Miss St. transfer Witherspoon. I think he will be something special for us over the next couple of years.

You are correct in that a spring game is essentially a glorified scrimmage with the mantra "Do not get anyone hurt". That is why individual stats may be the only significant measures. How many QB attempts/ completions? How many runs for daylight yardage? How many WR catches for first down yardage? Is it important that our punter had a great yardage day but was so far upfield that none of the punts went into the end zone for touchbacks? Was our defense that good or was our offense that bad? I expect JSU will let us know in September.

Not if he doesn't hold on to the football.

Was sorta impressed with Jalen Parker at QB. He adds some elusiveness to the mix and could be a nice change of pace from Johnston.

If it wasn't for the tag "sack" he would have ran it for a TD.04-rock

I'm confused him with Jay Barker's son. 03-drunk Their last name rhyme and they played near each other in HS (Spain Park/Hoover)

Alex Wright, who looks like he might be a monster, was helped off the field. Any news?

Johnson-Sanders, Ryan Davis, and Skull Brown all looked good at receiver. Prince and Pittman didn't play that I saw. McBride and Witherspoon looked good running the ball, along with #37 whose name I don't remember.

It was good to see a healthy Dylan Hopkins and Starling Thomas.

Barker was # 19, Parker was # 18.

RE: Spring Game discussion thread
Scoring no touchdowns is not okay.
UAB has very good quarterbacks. But please don’t ask them to execute poorly designed, slow to develop, pass plays.
This practice game reminded me of two UAB games from 2019;
UAB 2 - Southern MS 37
UAB 6 - Florida Atlantic 49

Don't remember him being helped off the field. Did see him after the game and he seemed fine.

He is 4th on the depth chart - at best. It would be a desperate situation for him to play. They have experimented with him at receiver, including a snap or two on Saturday.

I was not fazed at all with the lack of touchdowns.

An article about overreacting to spring game...
Sure it's about Bama/Auburn spring game but it's relatable
