Justice Stephen Breyer should retire-MSNBC commentator Mehdi Hasan

Seriously? It's hard to pick which words in that statement I find the most naive, misguided and self-serving. To Breyer's remarks, I have three responses.

First, where on Earth has he been over the past two decades as the Supreme Court delivered one partisan decision after another? Napping?

Breyer wants his fellow liberals to "think long and hard" before expanding, or "packing," the court, or, as he puts it, "structural alteration motivated by the perception of political influence."

So ... if you've need of a hanger for your robe, Mr. Justice, do let me know.

Breyer stepped out of line.

Breyer is 82. 83 in August. So he’s obviously coming into the home-stretch here. But he will probably stick around for another year or two (or at least, try to do that) just to spite these people.

The supreme court should be about law, not politics. What a stupid thing to say.

May I nominate Cardi B for his replacement.

Going after him is the worst move the Left could make if they want his cooperation in retiring while they control nominating his successor. It is up to him to decide when he retires and as far as I know he doesn't have the health issues Ginsburg did so staying on the SCOTUS for more years is certainly possible.
