Speaking for myself, it's amusing to see the subset of posters who hype every player as the Second Coming now say that there was no talent in the program.

The talent level was/is a problem. When London was at UVA he recruited very well early on before hitting a wall due to *points at everything being on fire from 2013-2015*.

That's disrespectful.

It's definitely fair to write we haven't had a good or better team since 2015. No question. It's fair to write we lacked playoff caliber talent at some positions over that span. I take issue with the comment that out cupboard was empty, especially from someone who claims every dipsy-doodle, jumpin jack flash, gentleman and a scholar recruit to sign with us is the next all-star.

I'm not sure how outright calling the roster talent-deficient is any more or less respectful than the cupboard metaphor, but it's no skin off my teeth. I was just confused about which part of the post you were objecting to. And it sounds like it was really the poster, so mystery solved. Carry on.

Some players were not up to playing at a playoff caliber isn't disrespectful. Claiming we had an empty cupboard, is. But, you know that, don't you? You see the massive difference, don't you? I took issue with the comment...I can't help that Bubba wrote it, but if that brings you closure, great.

With the possibility of Mathis having shoulder surgery which can lead into the season for full recovery what do we have in the QB cupboard. Did any younger QBs get any reps In practice? Are we expecting to add a QB from the TP? What kind of QBs are in the portal this year?

Chase Hart got practice reps this Spring and in the Fall. Would expect he'll be pushed for the back-up roll by Darius Wilson when he arrives this Summer. Video this Spring of Wilson shows a very advanced high school QB with significant athleticism. Through five games he is 65-84 for 1,008 yds. with 13 TDs and no Ints. Has also rushed 32 times for 384 yds. and 4 TDs.

If Mathis' shoulder doesn't heal quickly enough or completely, then Wilson could well be competing for the starting QB role in August.
