A record that may never be broken.

Insane. Miami's baseball field in the photo looks cool with the campus buildings in the outfield.

He made MLB for a brief 4 years despite a career 3.68 ERA.

The old field is on the same plot of land as the current ballpark built a bit two decades back (see link below), but for some reason it was oriented to face straight NW. Anyone whose played baseball/softball at any level can tell you how annoying it is to play somewhere that isn't pointed directly to the NE or SE.

Good thing that didn't happen recently, because if it did, you'd have people falling out of the trees to declare that the number of strikeouts was excessive and the rules of baseball need to be changed so that batters put more balls in play. 07-coffee3

Definitely a record that won't be broken. It's too difficult because striking out 26 batters requires the pitcher to throw way too many pitches, compared to (for example) a no-hitter in which the pitcher gets a lot of outs on groundouts or flyouts on the first or second pitch of an at-bat.
