RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft
Cisse was rawly talented but clueless on the court. His footwork was terrible and he seemed to always take bad angles on defense. That being said, he has only played 1 season against equally yoked talent, and then he bailed, as he has done at every stop he’s made. I think he will have played at 5 different schools in his 6 seasons of organized basketball.

I still don't understand the thought process with Cisse moving on. I can see wanting to get feedback from the NBA (no way he is getting drafted yet). He was going to be the starter - why move on?

His people don't believe he was handled correctly. He should have gotten more minutes.

If he shot 70% that would imply he had good touch out to midrange and would obviously make him an entirely different player. Guys with touch like Drew Timme shoot 70%

I guess we saw different things because in a basketball sense I did not see a coordinated player. He would often attempt to go up in traffic without ever squaring feet/shoulders to the rim, had awful hands, didnt know how to drop step, jumped at the slightest head fake and generally was a disaster in P&R defense.

He had no basketball instinct (offense or defense really beyond blocks as a help defender at the rim) at all and very much looked like a run/jump kid who has just started playing basketball. "Raw" implies the ingredients are there, he didnt even show many ingredients for the modern game

At the end of the year he did very well on the switch...Especially for a guy who is 6'10.

Coordination is legit concern though

Well, players' "people" rarely believe their guy is/was handled correctly. "If only you had more minutes, you'd get more touches, more shots, more points. You'd be THE MAN!"

I thought Penny handled him pretty well and would have loved to give him more time. He just wasn't in a position to play more. That will change over time because Moussa will improve, but it's not going to happen overnight.

He got as much of an opportunity with Penny as he would have gotten with any other coach in the country.

I will miss him holding his hands up and the anger on his face when he got lost on switch defense, and it was everyone's fault but his own.

Does anyone actually have a source about his “people/handlers” or is it like IKe’s dude on Lamar?

He is either lying to himself or somebody is lying to him because he does not look NBA ready

I've said it before...If you think a 6' 11" kid with a single mom...who moved from Africa to NYC to Memphis all during a 5-year span...attending private schools in both cities...does NOT have "people"...then you haven't been paying attention to the world.

He lived for a while with William Anderson, so I'd start there...

I thought it was a done deal with Florida State, but don't think anything has been announced - so who knows.

LMAO he didn't event shoot 50%! I'm reminded of a saying, "If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle".
