RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft
The guy is the worst foul shooter in the history of our program probably. He gets the ball slapped out of his hands every time he touches it. He doesn't play in the second half a lot because he is a liability. But he will get a spot on potiental and his size.

Big Sam would have taken minutes from him. That kid has been doing work.

Moussa isn't ready but I have no idea what his personal\family situation is.

Education might not be in the cards for the kid (I don't know)...He may only here to prepare to get a check.

Not sure Memphis will be faster to prepare him for the pros than playing overseas or in the G-League.

Depends on his family situation. But I don’t think he could do anything next year to hurt his stock, but he could turn into a first rounder

You have the round correct but not the year. I've seen this in several mock drafts. Zero developed offense skills.
Zero outside shot which is essential for the modern prototypical big man
Free Throw shoot is atrocious. Worse than Wilt.
Body is not ready for the NBA.

He has potential in several areas and can be a good off the bench center and make a good living but he has to advance in too many areas to be drafted this year.

Draft Projection:
possible second round pick in the 2023 or 2024 NBA Draft

I agree. Just too raw at this point, I believe. One never knows about the way the NBA will evaluate based on potential.

I I think once you've declared it so hard to go back.

Nah, they made it easy to test the waters. He was made for the test the water rule and can benefit from the lesson learned.

If he didn't learn the lesson that he is not ready in the 30ish games this season...I don't think he is listening.

But it there is no Moussa and No DJ we are going to need another rebounder. Hopefully Sam can fill that role.

Malcolm hasn't rebounded at a high enough level yet to count on him grabbing defensive boards.

Right on the money. He is nowhere near ready for the NBA. Heck, he's not ready for the G-League right now.

He needs to buckle down for the next 3 years and MAYBE by then he will have a chance.

If he not hopelessly uncoordinated it shouldn't take him that long.

He has shown signs of footwork and a little bit agility...

But the fact that he still cannot make FTs at this point in his career point to issues...It is either work ethic, coordination or a bad coaches.

If your dream is to play in the NBA he should have had the desire to be the best player he could be.

IDK, dude made the last 2 in a row he tried, and when it counted. I think his FT issues are in his head, not in his hands or stroke.

I don't agree...what he's done is allow himself more options and the chance to get feedback from NBA coaches/scouts.

odds tell us he won't sign with an agent and will most likely return for his 2nd season with Penny/Tigers

Again...

I am not sure he will learn what he needs in Memphis any faster than he would in a pro system.

Penny and staff have limited time to spend with him. That limit is no longer in place if he lands in the right place.

If he doesn't believe that a degree is going to get him where he wants cant really blame him too much.

But wherever he ends up he is going to have bust his butt to get where he needs to be.

RE: Memphis’ Moussa Cisse Declares For The NBA Draft
Ain't no way he's staying around for the 2023/2024 draft nor should he.

He's extremely young and obviously we all know he should have been a HS senior this past season. That may be the best part about him as a prospect.
Someone could definitely take a flier on him this year and he'd be G League stash only for about at the least 2 years to develop his body and some offensive skill.

That being said, it would be harder to standout in the G League with so many other similar players. If he comes back to school, on one hand you're still very young(a normal one and done) with an additional year to gain weight and increase your bball IQ. On the other hand, you would stand out in college b/c there are just not a lot of bigs with his natural ability.
You can't really hurt your stock b/c you're always going to be a rim runner/shot blocker with potential but you definitely could improve your stock.

Later in the year he started showing that he can hold his own on the switch...

So that is a very good sign for him to be able to eventually play in the league. But he is going to have to be a threat to score on his own.

But of course, he probably stays in the draft regardless.

It's hard for these guys to understand that most of them IF they make it to the league will be the number 1, 2 or 3 option.
You have to find a role and that's how you last.

There is no down side to declaring. If a team gives him a 2nd round guarantee, he should take it. He could develop into a 1st round pick in the next year or two, but it isn't a sure thing.

Issue there is no guaranteed money if he does go in the 2nd round.
