OT - Rice didn't make the cut for renewed College Bowl
Interesting relaunch of the old TV show, with Peyton Manning as the host.

I'll be curious to see how this plays out, and whether they choose to continue it for future years. Hopefully, Rice will get the call at some point, though it means finding sports-knowledgeable students.
I fully expect Peyton to be much more at ease in the role than Aaron Rodgers has proven so far with Jeopardy. Haven't seen Aaron this week, but last week was a bit underwhelming in what I saw. Maybe better than some, but has some growing. Alex set the bar so high with his comfort.

Interestingly, no top 20 academic school except Columbia is on the list.

Even more interesting to me... especially given the vitriol of some posters on facebook who don't see a connection between athletics and academics....
That Peyton Manning is the host of an Academic challenge called The College Bowl.
I mean for Christ's sake... if Frank Ryan had his football success in the 1990s/2000's... wouldn't he be the PERFECT host for this an an ambassador for Rice??
The connection of these academic/athletic dots are right in our faces... and yet we still have some very otherwise intelligent people who can't see it.
It makes SOME sense to me not to include elite schools in that they are reaching for the 'common' college student.... bigger demographic.
