Texas as a state was unbelievable this year. Hate Baylor but I'm glad to see a Texas team hoist the trophy for once.

Congrats to Baylor on a dominating performance. Worthy champions.

Very grateful we had a college basketball season. Hopefully, next year's games and Final Four are in front of sellout crowds again.

Between the Men and women had 67+63 games scheduled for the tournament- 130 total.... played 129. What a great job by the NCAA.

Congrats to the Bears! I'm not what you could call a huge fan (they are our rivals after all), but they're clearly the best team this year and certainly deserved this championship.

No they didn’t. That was embarrassing. They came out flat. They got punched in the mouth and they wilted. Getting down 29-10 to a good team is never advisable. Baylor won the boards 42-27, including 20 offensive boards. As Pat Riley once said, “No Rebounds, No Rings!”

The Good: CBS used the Teddy Pendergrass version of "One Shining Moment"

The Bad: They should have extended the song and moments because there was no 2020 tournament.

RE: NCAA Final Thoughts Gonzaga vs Baylor
It just looked like Gonzaga came out thinking they could get some passes early on with that slop play. And Baylor leaned into it, making it worse on Gonzaga. And the 3’s were just the daggers.

The dude has taken the program so far, but tonight, it was like Few still needed to learn how to play out a full season, with the cruelest lesson of playing sloppily in the final game that crowns the champ. He still can’t finish out. But, it’s not like getting to the title game was a fluke. Maybe he’ll get a third chance and finish out.

Props to Baylor. I remember the basketball scandals of the 90's and 00's. I remember how bad they once were. What an incredible job over an 18 year period by Scott Drew and his staff.

I have a lot of happy friends tonight.

RE: NCAA Final Thoughts Gonzaga vs Baylor
The question to me was this Gonzaga's year to do it or will they have another chance?

Are they going to be like Butler where they had a peak and didn't quite get there?

I just finished watching the game - I usually have to record games to watch later that night.

Terrific game by Baylor - well earned. They made us look midmajor. They had the tougher road to the championship and that consistent testing helps keep you strong and sharp:

Baylor: XII, Hartford, Wisconsin, Villanova, Arkansas, Houston - Champions
Gonzaga: WCC, Norfolk St, Oklahoma, Creighton, USC, UCLA - Runner-Up

You can’t (generally) pick your conference or NCAA tournament opponents but Gonzaga wasn’t tested through the season. That’s always been the knock on us and it showed tonight.

Being on a realignment board, I have two thoughts on Gonzaga’s conference affiliation: 1) the WCC is a great institutional fit but lacks weekly competition, 2) the MWC is a much more competitive conference but lacks the institutional fit.

My take is to wait until the XII mess is figured out in a few years. If the PAC loses top schools, then lobby to join the remaining PAC with St. Mary’s and BYU along with the cream of the MWC. If the PAC remains as-is, lobby to join the MWC with St. Mary’s.

It's not Ted Pendergast, it's Luther Vandross.

Baylors just that good this year. The way they had their way with Zags tonight made me feel a little better about my Coog's losing to the Bears in the semi-finals. When Baylors playing like that---its clear there's just not a lot any team can do to hang with them. lol....My Coogs didnt fare much worse than a undefeated #1 seeded Zags team. Congrats to Baylor. Thats one heck of team they have this year.

RE: NCAA Final Thoughts Gonzaga vs Baylor
Dominant performance by Baylor. I liked that they took apart Gonzaga's defense by making them pay for having Timme come out to help on top. This is the first team I've seen execute the slip screen pass to get easy dunks. Once that was broken Gonzaga's defense never really could adjust to plan B. Scott Drew out coached Mark Few by a few laps.

Mitchell is a possible lottery pick, even as a Junior (rare, but then again Kispert is in the same range), and Butler looked good enough to justify his 2nd round, possible 1st round status. I was overall impressed with the strength and conditioning of Baylor's team, they looked more developed physically.

True Gonzaga possibly spent themselves, at least emotionally against UCLA, but no excuses, Baylor was better and deserved the win. Congrats to the Bears, well earned.

Personally I was glad to see Gonzaga get exposed. Congratulations to Baylor for putting an end to the charade. In hindsight an UCLA vs Baylor final would have been a better game.

As a Hoosier by birth, I believe IU needs to remain the only school to roll through the regular season and NCAA tournament undefeated.

I really thought Gonzaga should have joined the MWC when it had the chance to a few years back and a game like this shows why. The undefeated season story was nice but there's a reason why it hasn't happened since 1976. Gonzaga could easily be undefeated in the regular season multiple times. Mark Few's been undefeated in the WCC six times in his career. All Gonzaga would have to do is play an easy non conference schedule. But then they get to the NCAA Tournament and play a team like Baylor and they go home. Keep in mind they made the NCAA final without playing a team seeded higher than a #5 seed (Creighton) and UCLA might have been underseeded but there's a huge gap between UCLA and Baylor. Mike Krzyzewski's won five national championships. He's made it through the ACC undefeated ONE time since 1980. In Duke's five national championships, Duke lost at least one non conference game four times (only 1991-92 went undefeated in non conference play, they lost two conference games). Roy Williams went undefeated in the Big 12 at Kansas but never in the ACC at North Carolina and in Roy's three national championships UNC lost at least one non conference game. If you want to win a national championship, you have to be tested. Gonzaga did play some good non conference teams this season (Iowa, Kansas, Virginia). The problem is they played them in December and then played the WCC for two whole months while Baylor played Big 12 competition for two whole months. Big difference. This was Gonzaga's best chance to win a national championship with the traditional powers down and playing a team and coach that hadn't won a national championship either in the championship game. When Gonzaga played North Carolina and Roy Williams in 2017, you expect UNC to win. But it's never been clearer to me that the WCC is holding Gonzaga back.

How well did the MWC prepare SDSU and Utah State for the Tourney? Both were shellacked in the first round by their opponents.

Ironically, UC Santa Barbara might have been better prepared for their matchup vs Creighton thanks to their conference foes, and two games with your WCC friends Loyola Marymount.
