Hello! My name is Jonathan, and I'm currently one of the leaders of Tribal Fever, the student-run Athletics fan club on campus. One Tribe One Day is just a little over a week away and I wanted to put on your radar that we will be participating and accepting donations during OTOD (and any time of year)!

In non-pandemic years, we have worked with Tribe Athletics to travel to away games, cater to students before kickoffs, do many successful giveaways, and more - famously, we have always strove to give free t-shirts to members. This past year, we have shifted to virtual operations, which have included streaming games for students thanks to FloSports, and still doing giveaways to make students feel appreciated and connected to the Tribe spirit.

But to do all this, we need funds. To alleviate the financial burden on members, we have lowered dues to $10/yr.; still, to be able to offer greater experiences for students next year as the pandemic alleviates, your donations are needed. If you have anything to spare on OTOD, you can head to our website's donation page, where there are instructions on how to donate via W&M (to count to OTOD) and how to donate directly to us via PayPal. We have a soft goal of being able to raise $1639 by the end of the semester, and you can report your donations here!

Many of the folks on this board played a crucial role supporting us as we got started and I’m confident they’ll pull through again. A thriving Tribal Fever is a huge win for athletes, coaches, alums, and the program at large.

The t-shirts are reserved for students - we're a registered student organization with the school, so most of what we do or offer is reserved for the student body. We do not have t-shirt mockups *yet* because we've opened up design submissions to the campus community and would like to see if anyone else has any ideas first :) After that, we'll hopefully get to starting t-shirt production.

Good facilities are nice to have, coaches and ADs come and go ... but honestly, the most important thing we can do to ensure the long-term viability of W&M athletics is to continue engaging the students, year in and year out. They’re the ones who will be supporting the Tribe when my generation are (in Shakespeare’s pithy phrase - this is a W&M board after all) “worms’ meat.”

Question: Students have to pay for FLO? Ridiculous and another unanticipated loss for the students (and a hindrance to future donations by our future fans). Streaming all games home and away should be part of what the students get out of their fees. Couldnt the commissioner work out a deal for free access via the schools on-campus intranet? Dumb on the part of FLO as well honestly...build your customer base/following/brand. Increased ratings for your streams leads to more ad revenue. Im no businessman, but my lord, who are these people and how do any of them have jobs?

FloSports? Yes, as far as we've been aware, students had to pay for their own subscription, which is something we wanted to avoid, hence we we as a club got a subscription to carry through the semester, so other students wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for games.

Well... if you want to potentially have future Flo customers, you can't very well have them logging into Flo on a comp'ed account. Then they'd see the interface and never want to pay for it.

Color me slightly confused - should I be doing the 2255 code and typing in Tribal Fever or using the 3305? Does it matter?

WML33T—I used 3305 to make sure it was earmarked for Tribal Fever. I’d imagine both will work!
