Just a guess on my part seeing how football is a low priority sport (except for money games) couldn't schedule game in the afternoon because that could conflict with the Chess Club matches.

RE: Spring Game
There is a lacrosse game at 1pm. I wonder if that is what's causing the early time.

Hopefully the Lacrosse game doesn't have pregame fireworks and cancel the spring game....

No fans because flashes following "Spring Sport Protocol" not allowed. Typing this while watching NFL Draft from Cleveland. There are fans in attendance and Saturday I will watch FCS Division football games through out the country WITH FANS IN ATTENDANCE.
My opinion 2 ways to look at this. The flash administration is correct and the rest of the country is wrong or once again incompetent is the key word to describe KSU management.

Proud pilot, unless I'm mistaken, the NFL draft only allowed fully vaccinated people in. At least that is what I heard. Not enough people have been fully vaccinated, so the country is still experiencing more than 40,000 new cases a day. I have been fully vaccinated, but I still avoid large gatherings.

RE: Spring Game
I hear you, but to say you won’t allow fans is better to allow them and have a few dozen show up due to when you’re holding the event.

As for the crowds, I turned on the draft and they’re packed in there like sardines, so much for limits. I almost thought it was a replay of a previous year.

And the FCS games are all played on Sunday this week due to the draft. The NCAA came up with their own limits regardless of the what each particular state allows, it was 25% but recently bumped up to I believe 50%.

And how do they know that without going to our COVID passport? Crazy world we’re living in. I thought they meant the players and NFL personnel present were vaccinated, I didn’t know they meant the fans too.

Just found this:
Quote: Do I need to be fully vaccinated to attend?

Yes and no.

You are not required to prove vaccination for the Draft Experience.

Those looking to attend the Draft will be required to wear face masks or coverings, even if they are fully vaccinated, and follow the social distancing guidelines and other safety protocols implemented around the city for the three-day event. Masks will be provided to those who need them. Hand sanitizing stations will be set up around the event.

They said at the beginning that they only let full vaccinated people in and everyone in the green room had to be tested.

Dodge City or the Jayhawks?

I imagine the two jobs are comparable.

RE: Spring Game
Tough gig. They haven't won more than five games in a season since 2009. He'll get more money, and if he doesn't win much, it really won't hurt him because not many coaches have done well there. If he gets them above .500 he'll be a hot commodity. Former Kent State coach Glen Mason didn't do too badly there. It got him a Big Ten gig at Minnesota, where he didn't do too badly, either. Mason was a good coach. Despite coaching at Kent State, Kansas at Minnesota. Each had a losing season before he took over, and he managed to win a couple more than he lost in his career.

He is the second Buffalo coach to go to Kansas, following Turner Gill.

The Canton Marathon was going on today. Thousands around. Kent has to seem like its taking some righteous stance by not allowing dozens of fans in a stadium that seats 25k.

Had a conversation with a friend who has a daughter that plays on a Spring sport team. In March the athletes that utilize the indoor practice facility were told that practices had been cancelled.
The university had decided to use the indoor facility has a vaccine administration location for the Kent area, When one of the players asked the question, why can't the large empty parking lot be used to administer the vaccine? The coach responded I had no input into this decision.
