He had Hog & Hominy, but it's been closed due to fire for over a year now. He's left with Restaurant Iris (one of the top rated in Memphis), The Second Line, and Fino's. (I think that's the list.) Good chef. But whiny and poor at politics.

I thought Hog & Hominy was the two Italian relatives that owned Andres Michael's across the street?

Yeah, I stand corrected. Andrew and Michael. Husbands of Catherine and Mary (another restaurant in town).
They aren't relatives though, but best friends and biz partners.
Went to HS together, then culinary school together.
Now they are each married, and they live across the street from each other - raising their families together.
I think I got all that right. Heard an interview with them once - interesting story.

Not to pile on, but pretty sure Catherine & Mary’s was named after their grandmothers.

hmmm...That's not how I recall the interview. IIRC they said it was the names of their wives. They refer to it as "grandmother cooking", but I think it's the wives names...But it's been a couple of years, and I don't know the guys, so I might be misremembering.

RE: 2021 FB attendance plan
Still never even been tested for covid. Haven't been sick, so no need to have something jammed up my nose. No plan to get a shot either. Thankfully, masks aren't required in our office and I have found a few restaurants/bars that are very lax on the mask mandate -mostly Fayette County. If the loony Dems running Memphis wanna require a mask and/or proof of a vaccine to attend Tiger football or basketball, guess I'll be watching from home again this year. Saves me a whole bunch of $$$$$.

Hog N Hominy is owned by Andy Ticer & Michael Hudman and Hog is scheduled to reopen in June or July. They also own Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen, Catherine & Mary's (named after their grandmothers), The Gray Canary, & Bishop (located in Central Station). I've eaten in all their restaurants, and the food is excellent in each locale. They also have a restaurant in New Orleans in the Ace Hotel called, Josephine & Estelle (named after their daughters). Also, both Andy & Michael are HUGE Tiger fans. Now back to the subject at hand. I'm reordering my 12 football season tix, wife and I are fully vaccinated and ready to see the Tigers play. If they require a vaccination card for me to enter the stadium (no big deal) to see my Tigers play, so be it. Same holds true for Tiger basketball. GO TIGERS!!

I had an uncle (52) - one of the best guys ever - who thought the same way. We couldn’t even have his funeral to celebrate his life (hopefully we can in the next few months).

I stayed with him during the cotton bowl. I still miss him.

If it takes denying access to big events to get people to get the vaccine then so be it. You have the freedom to stay home if you choose.

What is amazing is that you can be called a serial killer for walking into Starbucks without a mask by one side, but the same side thinks nothing of 100,000 people crossing the border every month from the country with the highest death rate per million on the planet, getting packed like sardines into cages, then being released all over the US, without being tested.

There will be new reasons for the next 2-3 years.
:coffee3:Don't you get it Stammers? The current administration want to eliminate the older wiser people that see what they are trying to do and then brainwash the younger less experienced population that socialism is the only way to go. They will then have a complete population that are completely dependent on them for survival and will have dominance over them. It will then be like China, etc. etc.

Nazi Germany gassed Jews and invaded Europe.

What does showing proof of a vax (like we require for school and some jobs) have to do with warehousing Jews?

Guess you only read the Cliffs Notes version.

Corrected again, thanks.
To recap...Andrew and Michael are NOT related, but best friends. Catherine & Mary were grandmothers. Their restaurants are great - including the soon to reopen Hog & Hominy on Brookhaven Circle. They don't whine and play politics as much as Kelly English.

That's fine unless the big events don't make money because you have the freedom to stay home.
