RE: Transfer in Davion Warren 6'6" Guard
From highlights it looks like Davion is more of a replacement for DJ that could share minutes with Nolley &/or LQ. Not seeing any PG in his game.

Competition level, obviously lower but with his age and size and likely being surrounded by other experienced players he should be a solid replacement for Boogie. A major piece
3 assists per game is not really meh for a non pg that had to be the lead scorer on his team. That would only be beneath deandre at 3.4 and lomax at 4.2. Rest are all below 2.

Will he be eligible immediately? If so, he will help tremendously. I feel fantastic about landing this young man.
Now we have two "DWs."
race guy will really like that
Weird solution
Refer to this kid as Warren, and Williams as Williams
This ain’t twitter, you can waste the extra strokes
And it is Hardaway or Penny, not CPH gack
I like DeAndre and Davion. And Anfernee.
Those work too

Fine with me, it wasn’t a deep analysis
Scoring and age!
75% from the line, his three point average went down from 37 to 30 this year, but no reason to expect he won’t get better looks here and get that closer to 40

Like the size and scoring...
But Nolley made was successful in the ACC so no surprise it translated well here.
Hard to know how successful he will be with the upgraded competition.

Likely for us he won’t be a lead guard. I’m expecting 6th man type stuff from him. We will see though. I would be happy with 8-10ppg from him and good defense.

Agree
Game in and game out better competition can take a toll but he will also have better teammates and he graduated High School in 2017. So he will be what, 22-24 years old when here
Like this all around

Agreed...After watching the video...
Seems like a liability on defense...But that may be a coaching deal.

Yeah, I corrected that earlier. I was going by the fact that both are (shooting) guards, which is true.
I never said Warren is a PG.
But at 1.5 assists per game, Boogie wasn't really a PG, either. Much better as the off guard.

Nice having another mature player that can put up points. I think I read he was 5th in the NCAA. I don’t care where you play, that’s putting up big numbers.

Stanley from Hampton scored 22 points a game last year...Transferred to Xavier but only played 4 games before getting hurt
But he was a 9 minute per game guy in those four games...He was rather efficient in 9 minutes though.
6 points and 2 rebounds in 9 minutes is good. Not sure why he was only getting 9 minutes.

He will play defense if he plays for Penny.

18/6 for the standard 27ish minute per game starter. Maybe he would have worked into that if not injured.

Would have been interesting to see full season stats. Hard to tell why he wasn’t getting more time, could be conditioning, lack of practice with the team, coming off injury, etc.
Anyway, I have to say I like this pick up.

Go get 'em, Penny!! He's not waiting around. This sounds promising. And, very important to get a guy in this soon.

This guy can definitely intercept the passing lanes though. Focus on his steals column in his game logs this past season!
