#1 Mich lost to #11 UCLA
#1 Illinois lost to #8 Loyola
#2 Ohio St. lost to #15 Oral Roberts
#2 Alabama lost to #11 UCLA
#2 Iowa lost to #7 Oregon
#3 Texas lost to #14 Abilene
#3 WVU lost to #11 Syracuse
#4 OKST lost to #12 Oregon St
#4 Virginia lost to #13 Ohio
#4 Purdue lost to #13 North Texas

That's 10 of 16 top seeds losing significant upsets (5+ seed margin) in this tournament. Who in the field would have prepared us for Baylor?

Other side of the bracket, but yes those two are in a league of their own.

I know we kind of let the little guys down today but you just have to give it to Baylor. Amazing team on both sides of the ball. Best team from Texas in the best year the state has ever had. Proud of the this UH team though. To lose three projected starters (NBA draft, injury, transfer) and still come out and make a final four, is a helluva of an accomplishment. Won't be our last under Sampson either. Hopefully next time we'll have enough in the tank to win once we're back. 6 final fours, still no championship. Damn. GG

It likely would not have mattered who Baylor played today (other than Gongaza). The Bears would have won by 10 to 25 points. Baylor is simply elite.

Twitter is roasting Houston right now. You can only play who is in front of you but that apparently doesn’t matter.

Mostly UT fans trying to make themselves feel better for choking in the 1st round.

There have been bigger Final 4 blowouts than this one. I remember one being like a 40-point game at one point around 2003.

Houston has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or apologize for. Congratulations to the Cougars on a fabulous season!

I seem to remember Duke being blown out by UNLV, and that was a pretty good Duke team.

Guys, it was always a two horse race. UM was living in a bubble of good but not great teams. It’s fitting because if I recall these were the best schools in 2020 as well. Can’t remember exactly who the projected top seeds were.

I think Mich was in it had Livers not gotten hurt but yah there was pretty clearly a drop off after that very short list of teams.

I honestly think Carolina had a good matchup vs Baylor and I’m not being a homer. I was more scared of Wisconsin and rightfully so.

FSU was a favorite last season as well. Lost some key components.

Michigan State 101, Penn 67 - 1979

It was MSU 50, Penn 17 at halftime!

One of the biggest blowouts from start to finish I will ever remember.

RE: Final 4 Game Thread: Houston vs Baylor
Houston has nothing to be ashamed of.

Gonzaga and Baylor are both elite.

Michigan with Livers was likely No. 3.

UCLA will finish third in the final polls (and deservedly so).

Houston will finish between No. 5 and No. 8 in the final polls (and deservedly so).

The better team won. It happens.

Congrats to both Baylor and Houston.
