Hard work and chemistry
You won't leave home without it

I'm not saying DJ did that. I'm just saying Williams, the guy who is in the OP, is skilled, experienced and a hard worker/ player. Plus he gets and gives tons of hugs from/to the players.

he back too!

DJ...

But Seriously it depends on what the other guys bring...

Nolley is a smooth shooter but he definitely needs help to score.

Cisse is a elite defensive player\rebounder but lacks offense...Looked for a big jump next year offensively.

Is the drop from Nolley to Minott, Camden or Davion greater than the drop from Cisse to Sam.

I'm not super high on Nolley though...He is a solid player
He scored 2-3 more points than everyone else...But he also shot 29% more shots than they did as well.

DJ? Come on. Nolley plays circles CONSISTENTLY around DJ.
Nolley was our only all-conference player. He was the NIT MVP.

Opinions differ...

If I had to choose I am picking DJ.

DJ Better rebounder...Better defender...Better facilitator...More Versatile (Especially on defense)

Nolley definitely a better scorer.

Now that is all of the physical tools...Now I am not sure DJ was a leader by example or vocally. But if DJ got serious definitely had much more upside.

Yes, opinions vary.
IMO the only thing DJ did noticeably better than Landers was rebound.
Landers is the better shooter, scorer, FT shooter and did just as much with assists and steals. And for us, scoring and shooting is pretty important. Penny can get the guys to play D and rebound.
Finally it seems pretty obvious that the chemistry was just better with Landers.
There's a reason Landers was 1st team all-AAC and the NIT MVP. There's also a reason when DJ's parents gave Penny an ultimatum between Landers and DJ being the offense focal point, DJ hit the portal.

What are those stats and where did you get them? I've been looking for stats like these but didn't know where to look.

The one thing I didn't like about the DJ situation was giving the HC an ultimatum or telling Penny how he should be used (if that was truly the case). More concerned about the individual than the team. But I guess there is a lot of that going on nowdays.

Yeah...

That is how I feel about it the whole ultimatum rumor

Seems like some people choose to believe message board rumors but will classify many things as fake news from reputable sources.

And the stats are self compiled...Have a script that parses boxscores.

ppp = Points Per Possession while that player was on the floor.

Correct your decimal and you've got an argument.
Most seem to agree with me. But it is just an opinion.
Regardless, DJ gone. Landers staying.
If the ultimatum was between the two, I'm glad the way it worked out.
And even a DJ backer can admit that if DJ is the greater impact, it is marginal.

DJ didn't get serious and that's why he's gone.

When Nolley takes that dribble to just inside the free throw line he is almost automatic. I'd like to see him do that more often

Same with that 14 footer from the wing. He’s lethal.
