No kidding. Troy baseball is going in the tank. A lot of irritable fans. I suspect longtime coach Smartt will be pushed out if next season is more of the same.

On a side note, the level of umpiring in the AState/LR series was the highest I've ever seen it. We saw:

1. A homeplate umpire request a check swing. 3rd base umpire says he didn't swing, home plate umpire overrules 3rd base umpire and says he swung anyway. Calls strike 3

2. A strike zone that seemed to change every pitch

3. A base umpire overruling a plate umpire to call a hit by pitch.

4. A baserunner getting called safe on a play when he was out by 3 feet.

5. An umpire calling "out" on a ball that clearly went over the fence because he mistook the fan holding up the ball behind the fence in celebration as the outfielder showing he caught it. (Eventually this got fixed)

6. The Umpiring crew arriving after the first pitch time for Thursday's game because they didn't realize the series started on Thursday Night.

Now why would I call this good umpiring you ask? Because every single questionable call went in Astate's favor. You see, great umpiring is not about whether or not they get the call right, its that they help the right team...

Yeah, we kinda liked that one. We better not get too cocky and lose the series though. Time to keep the foot on the pedal and do it again this afternoon.

Guess what......we got cocky.

Stranded too many runners and could not get it done when it counted.
