Examples of old school NBA bigs who could play the modern game
Who are some NBA bigs from previous generations whose games would translate to the modern game?
I think these guys could be effective: Daugherty, Laimbeer, Olajuwon, Mourning. Anyone else? Is there anyone who'd be a dinosaur? Guys I can think of: Shaq, both Malones, Kareem, Chamberlain

Kind of had a discussion along those lines recently for forwards, guards, and centers.
Hakeem would have been nasty....
Mourning had the size and strength to not get pushed around....
Malone would have needed a good point guard like Stockton for the offensive side but defensively he would have ben fine.
Mt Mutombo would have been tough to get a shot by.
I think a lot of those greats would have had to have been in the right offensive scheme though to flourish on that side of the ball.

Could the old school bigs developed their jumper to be 3-pt threats?

Hakeem and Kareem would be fine. I doubt Laimbeer could succeed.

Hakeem would be SCARY! Dunno if Kareem had the perimeter game.

Don't have to shoot 3's when you have an unstoppable skyhook.

Laimbeer would last about 5 minutes before he did something that would end in a lifetime ban from the league
