Could be - but there is another side to that coin. What does that say to other players that see them in the portal and not highly rated, when they came to Memphis highly rated to learn from an NBA legend about what it takes to get to the league? Do they become poison as an example of what Penny had in the program and what he turned them into as far as NBA potential material? If their skills worsened, does it reflect on Penny? I hope not, but that could be an unwelcome result....

Hate to see Boogie and DJ go. Thought both showed real promise as sophomores....and it looked like there was possibility of real growth. Unless one or all trashes the program as they exit, we’ll probably never know why each made the decision to leave. Wish them well, but had they all stayed the team would have been special next year. Still may be. Hope they indeed find the grass is greener in another pasture.

All Penny has to do is point to Wiseman, Precious, and the number of other guys who actually developed. Then he says it takes work, and you have to play the Memphis way - defense, fast, unselfish.

I am sure they had a pretty good idea where they were gonna land before they entered the portal.

I'm just curious...Is putting your name into the portal reversible? Not acting hopeful on a return of anyone by any means, and I'm not saying either party would even want that. Just askin' if players can rescind their decision.

I think over 1100 kids have entered to transfer

So top 30 will be pretty elite likely

DJ and Boogie are good players
Baugh is a solid D1 player

None are all conference level, yet, maybe they will be, maybe not

Based on potential...DJ should be top 30.

Would Penny go after Jayden Gardner, from ECU? He went 23 & 9 against us in ECU's loss at the FexEx Forum.

Would Gardner come here, or is he thinking he should be in the ACC?

I’m not a insider or claim to be close to the program like a few around here claim but a coworker that’s tied to the program told me today that Penny pushed DJ and Baugh out.

He also said Boogie was eventually looking to leave regardless. He also said Cisse is 50/50

So much for the whole “we are all coming back” mantra we heard Sunday.
