Roy Williams Retiring?

On April 1? Seems ripe for being BS, but why would UNC do that?

Boehiem and Coach K will retire within 1-3 years I figure. A couple younger coaches are going to make bank.

Brannen / Marshall combo. The ultimate likeable coaching team... Maybe moreso than Ole Roy

That's a bizarre list.

- Mark Few and Nate Oats are the only home run hires on that list, but I doubt Few is going anywhere.

- Hubert Davis will certainly get a look -- don't know if he's the one who pulls in the big recruits at UNC, but it makes a lot of sense.

- Wes Miller should get a look since he turned around a moribund program and is a North Carolina guy, but it seems like a hell of a leap.

- I think we'll see a female head coach in Division I sooner than later, but I can't see a blue blood being the first one to test the waters.

- Jerod Haase has done absolutely nothing at Stanford -- I wouldn't even be that excited about him coming to an AAC school, let alone UNC.

The rest are former players with limited or no college coaching experience, and I guess Juwan Howard's success at Michigan makes everyone want to go that route. I can't see the UNC faithful being happy with Jerry Stackhouse after going 20-37 in two years at Vanderbilt. Kenny Smith is strictly an NBA guy in my mind, and at 56, he's not exactly a spring chicken. Antawn Jamison has been involved in scouting and pro personnel in the NBA, but I don't think he's even been a bench coach yet.

RE: Roy Williams Retiring?
You have a UNC alum right down the road in Greensboro coaching UNCG, Wes Miller should be the next coach of UNC.
