By Tyler Patchen – Health and Technology Reporter, Birmingham Business Journal

Two Birmingham schools have been ranked among the best value colleges and universities, according to a new ranking.

Birmingham-Southern College has been ranked 24th and UAB ranked 66th on College Consensus' list of the 100 most affordable colleges and universities for 2021. Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, ranked first on this list.

College Consensus combined official rankings from publishers with verified student ratings from reputable review sites to form an aggregate ranking that takes into account the opinions of experts and the experience of students. They then looked at tuition costs to identify the colleges that represented the best values.

For the list of best value online colleges, UAB ranked 13th in the nation, with Eastern Illinois University ranking first. UAB was the only Alabama school on that list.
