Are money games going to be a staple for guaranteed revenue...or, more a one off? I know Memphis had to rethink their stance on 2 for 1s in order to get P5s into the Liberty Bowl. With ECUs fanbase, I'd think the later would be more profitable...both in $ and wins.
As UCF's new boy Gus said, you HAVE to find ways to get top teams on your schedule. For the time being, we have zero shot at making the top 4. Even when we move to an 8-team format, our conference schedules DO NOT stand on their own outside of a miracle. Our champ needs a top 15 OOC win to really stand out, even if that means traveling for it.
I can only speak for myself, but I have a sliding scale of how OK I am with arrangements other than H&Hs with the P5, and it depends entirely on the teams.
For instance, I'm fine with scheduling single away games with perennial top 10 teams (described as teams that have been in the top 10 more often than not over the past decade, i.e. teams that are most likely to be in the top 10 the year that you play them). This includes Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU, Oregon, Georgia, Auburn, with teams like Michigan and USC bringing up the rear of that top list. I do realize that teams like USF are getting 2 for 1's with Bama, but we don't have the market or NFL stadium for that.
Next up are the teams that I'd be ok doing 2 for 1's with. This obviously includes the list above, and also extends to the more notable P5's that usually rank in the #11-#30 range. Stanford, Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan State, Washington, Texas A&M, Penn State, Miami, Texas, etc
For pretty much everyone else, I'd want a home and home.
Either way, everyone needs to be scheduling as best they can. This is our best opponent over the next 10 years.

Michigan - potential top 10 quality

meh = 30ish% chance they'd be a top 25 team, even less after a potential loss to us
