Is the Spring Football Season "Worth It?"
In your estimation, do you think W&M's Spring football season is "worth it?" Check out our recent article, which speaks to this very topic & provides a season update.

Yes. Of course.

A) We're finding out who wants to play here.

B) Young guys are gaining a ton of experience.

C) Coaches can see where we're weak and fill those spots with transfers. For example, 2 safeties quit or transferred out. We now have an opportunity for a safety transfer. Hard to find those guys in August.

It's certainly a frustrating season as a fan, but ultimately it's up to the players to decide if it's worth it or not. Some did opt out, but for the most part, it seems like the team is happy to be back on the field, so from the outside I'd say it's worth it.

The only people that can answer that question are the players. And I think the players that show up every day to practice and play must think it is- otherwise they would decide to do something else.

Albany doesn't think it's worth it but reference mounting injuries as the reason.

Worth it solely as a solid extended spring practice...players are for it. As a real football season...a resounding no.

Games are meaningless in my opinion..but I like that the players get to play and gives coaching staffs extended looks at their personnel.

Real season starts in August.

Tell the kids who were injured during GAMES that it's not a real season. Some FCS teams will participate in the playoffs and win a championship at the completion of this real season.

How do you maintain/grow a program if you decide not to play when everyone else does?

Had the CAA decided not to have a spring season, I would have been OK with the Tribe sitting out. But once the CAA decided to play, I don't think you have much of a choice.

The season is absolutely real and worth playing. What's surreal is the whole situation we are in with the pandemic. Tell kids who play sports that their season isn't worth it, and most would tell you to #### off. Not sure what to tell you about the women's hoops team in this regard. I think there are other factors involved.
