With NCAA tampering: JW, Rand, Landers Nolley, DeAndre Williams......He has been able to roster his players, but he hasn't been able to play his players.

Removing the restriction of movement could be good for us. Duke, NC, etc get their transfers cleared. It's teams like us that get $@#&ed.

He inherited a roster full your hero's players his first year, got screwed by the NCAA on Wiseman, got screwed by the NCAA with Williams, and couldn't convince the guys to play his way until the last half of this season. Anyone that comes in from this point onward will have a very clear understanding of what is expected of them, AND Penny will be able to see how they played on the team they left.

No shock that you calculate 1 year of a roster inheriting your hero's players, getting screwed out of the #2 pick in the NBA draft, and a season that is 7 months away as 4 years.

Why doesn't this happen in non-revenue sports where the they don't have to sit out a year to transfer? Why isn't Vandy poaching our ace pitcher or UNC grabbing our best female mid-fielder? Why is this only a concern for men's football and basketball?

So does Penny go out and get transfers before DJ, Boogie and Baugh officially transfer or does he wait until after? Seems like a risky move to wait but also seem like he it might close the door on the possibility of them returning. Quite a conundrum

Because most of the football and basketball players have been told from a very early age how great they are and that they are a sure fire NFL/NBA hall of famer, that is going to make hundreds of millions of dollars. And, if that doesn't look like it's going their way, they blame the coach and/or situation.

You average "minor" sport athlete is just trying to enjoy college and get that piece of paper.

not a conundrum to me.. if you hit the portal, you transfer. You have told the staff and the fans you want out, there is no way the relationship with the coaching staff could ever be what it needs to be if the player does not transfer.

You go get the best guys you can, and you do it now.

This. In some programs they’re sitting praying their guys will change their minds. Not here.

Ike doesn't like it at all, with Penny we could benefit but,IKE's concern is football, iif players r allowed to switch teams and not sit a year smaller programs will disappear. The big Dawgs will pluck the developed players
