Well for the number of bids given the Big 10 / ACC / Big 12 / SEC (28 bids) there are 3 in the elite 8. After tonight there will be 3 from the 5 bid PAC 12.
Lucyeeee (NCAA)! Got' some 'splainin to do!
And that means 1 team East of the Mississippi made the Elite 8!
How is that possible? We’ve been told anything West of the Mississippi is “Western Crap” that brings no value to any conference, especially the “Pathetic 12”.
1. Told by whom? Texas and Oklahoma are quite valuable.
2. If we are talking football value which is 80% of the equation then there isn't really enough value for the Big 10 or SEC if they aren't Texas or Oklahoma but that has to do with added value.
3. Have I ever referred to the PAC 12 as pathetic? Or the other schools in the Big 12 as the "little 8" or are you referring to one Nova fan who poses as a Big 10 guy? I say pose because the real Big 10 fans here don't act that way.
My undergrad is from Illinois and my master's degree is from Penn State. Lots of people can say they graduated from a Big Ten university. How many people can say they graduated from TWO? So POSER? I talk about Villanova more because they won two national championships since 2016 and I live in the area. But I have Big Ten in my blood. I'm no poser when it comes to the Big Ten. And come football season I'm all Big Ten. I would've been more of Penn State fan last fall if it weren't for this damn pandemic that screwed the season up. James Franklin had to coach the season away from his family. Anyone here believe PSU is going to be sub .500 once this pandemic is over? Just like this crap NCAA Tournament.
Champions act like they've been there before, don't talk smack, never low rate the less fortunate, and only blame themselves when they lose. People won't believe it but the worst smack talkers in the SEC are Vanderbilt Baseball fans, not LSU or Mississippi State baseball fans, but Vandy fans. Outside of baseball they've never won a title in anything else other than Women's bowling.
I've been to games with Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio State fans. None of them talked trash. But then all of them have won at something. I knew Penn State fans before they joined the Big 10. They weren't smack talkers either. Was it Illinois that caused this because Frank doesn't do it? Or is it just natural?
This board is as about as diverse as you'll find on the internet. I suggest you treat it accordingly. If somebody talks smack with you take it to the PM, or report it, or go to smack board and have it out. But no more "Pathetic 12," "Little 8", and no more busting on Mississippi Schools or West Virginia both of which are tasked with educating to meet the needs of their states and not specifically for research. If all schools were research schools what would we eat? Who would build and design our infrastructure? Who would maintain health standards for food stock animals? And who would teach school? Everybody contributes to what you enjoy each day. Act like it!
Editorial Note to the Board: Vanderbilt has agreed to commit 300 million to the renovations of the basketball and football venues. I think Sankey had a little talk with them after the new contract was announced. First update to the football facility since 1981. Now if they actually do it, they'll be with us in the SEC for a long long time.
