Also interesting that only 9 of the 18 in the portal (per 24/7) have found a home. That means the other 9 have missed out on Spring practice. Many analysts felt there would be a large number of kids that don't find a D1 landing spot because of the holdover year for COVID so it will be interesting to see if any of these come back to Silverfield asking for a do-over. Not sure how many he would be interested in having come back. Obviously I think Tahj Washington is a talent you take back but since that just happened I don't expect he will have trouble landing somewhere. Thoughts?

We are already funding more scholarships than budgeted for. I doubt we will be bringing anyone back.

Some of the guys who left were let go because, (1) there wasn’t room and (2) many of the guys coming in are even better. Coaches all over the country are talking about the tough choices they are Required to make.

A bit of a squeeze is in play.
Players getting an extra year, so the pool is 20%-ish bigger than ever.
Pandemic shrunk athletic budgets, putting a limit on "additional" schollies.

Someone posted way back that the school had placed a hard cap at a certain number of additional schollies this year (6? 8?). While I never saw an announcement from the school, it did appear that they did this very thing.
