But for those of us that are closer to be able to hear all that he has been saying, it makes sense. And it has come together the last four games. Hopefully the players have permanently bought in now. Still a lot of ball to play. It will also be interesting how well they handle this layoff.

Soon, ummmm, duh huh. How much have you talked to Siddle? How many practices have you been to?

So are you not giving any credit to the staff? We are, for making appropriate changes, even if just small changes, positive changes. Technically execution is on the players. So if it’s purely execution that has changed …….

I'm trying to keep this as uncomplicated as I can. I'm not saying the staff hasn't made adjustments. But the system is the same. What Siddle was trying to instill is the same. Most of these guys didn't know each other before this year. It's a new system they had to buy into and come together as a team. It wouldn't surprise me that most have never played this style before. They've had to learn to trust each to be where they are supposed to be, especially when driving and kicking the ball back out. It looks to me that it is all coming together. So I give credit to the staff and the players for sticking with it and bringing it together.

I think we are splitting hairs, I don’t think anyone said we over hauled the system but merely made adjustments. And all of us even naysayers like me have given the staff the credit it deserves. Let hope they pick back up well post sniffle layoff

RE: 2021-2022 Men's Basketball
We now have stats to back up what we've been saying all along. This really isn't debateable. It would actually be a sign of a bad coach if the players were taking almost half their shots from three when the coaches were telling them to drive and the coach allowed it. And it would be a sign of a good coach if the change to driving more and shooting fewer threes was intentional and produced a 4-0 record. I prefer to think we have a good coach.

I appreciate those of you with inside information dumbing down basketball for the rest of us simpletons. Everyone knows that fans sitting closer to the court know more.

RE: 2021-2022 Men's Basketball
Jacksonville was obviously the low point this season, because it felt like we were just doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over.

Everyone has responded from that in a big way, with the coaching staff doing a great job to adjust what we were doing on both ends of the floor, and players for accepting those changes, which included transitioning into new roles that will take some time to get used to.

As much fun as it would be to 12-0 and blowing everyone out, it's been pretty awesome to watch these guys be rewarded for their growth after a tough start. It's also great to see our staff isn't afraid to shake things up.

I went a bit more in-depth on the offensive adjustments here, which was made possible by detailed shot charts!

I would not get to carried away with this right now . It certainly looks a little better but the fact is that team is 5-5,RPI -256,SOS 321 . If they finish over .500 I will be surprised myself .

Carried away? I don't think this is a *great* team by any stretch, but I'm impressed with their growth. At a time things could have gone way south, they responded in a big way. I'm all about the process, Mullet!

2021-2022 Men's Basketball
33, a few posts back, made note of what I believe to be a point that has a great deal to do with the development of this group as a team - getting to know each other. This is a point that is often overlooked. It takes time and sometimes never happens.
For those of us that have been around long enough to remember, Billy & Bobbie Martin come to mind. Identical twins from Biscoe, NC, they were a prime example of "knowing" each other. They had played together from childhood to high school, juco & finally at the Dub. As guards they had developed a unique sense of where each other was all the time. They showed an amazing ability to play together & coordinate with each other's every move. It developed over playing together for years & years.
I am not saying that the present team can attain that level of coordination but it takes a lot longer than three or four months to begin developing cohesion and trust.
It is still early.

Ditto. Scribe has become the go-to media source on the Seahawks. His work is very good and very much appreciated.

Appreciate it, guys. Now that I'm out of the daily sports media grind, it's nice to write about something I enjoy as an escape from the commute.

ESPN gives us a 50.2% chance of victory.

Been waiting for solohawks to create a game thread so we can talk about it, lol.

I'll take it! Elon got a chance to shake the rust off by playing a game on Sunday so I think a sluggish start for us by comparison is to be expected. Just need to make sure we win the final 20-30 minutes of the contest.

I would prefer to wait a while and see how it plays out myself but I get it any win is a good one . THey have one good win in this mini streak and the schedule is so weak they really should be winning these games easily .

5 - Kelly (6'9" 230 lb. Jr.), McGriff (6'8" 180 lb. Fr.)
On paper, that's a damned good lineup. Athletic, good size at every position, and lots of upper classmen. Stong guards at the 1,2 and 3 spots and good size at the 4/5 spots.

We should be able to Run/Defend/Win with this lineup. Lot's of bodies to put on the court to press and play high tempo ball.

Can't wait.

Fun to be able to go to the wayback machine. Flip White and Kelly and this is the lineup everyone was concerned didn't have the size to compete.
