Awful quiet on all fronts! I'd love to see some movement on the next add to the CAA or a committment from the transfer portal. I'm having withdrawls from this basketball season.

Not sure if this was already posted, but the Dub will be opening the 22-23 season @ Chapel Hill on Nov. 7th. Should be a great game regardless of the outcome!

Saw that the other day. Last time we played them McGrath didn't coach like he had any expectation we might win. I have a feeling Siddle isn't coming to be the sacrificial lamb.

Did CB ever coach like we might win?

Why? It is a legally binding contract between two schools. UNCW fulfilled its' contract with McGrath by paying him after he was let go. The two have nothing to do with each other.

If we had played two at UNC and were trying to get our home game I'd be inclined to agree, but...We already got our home game against UNC.

I'd love to know the buyout provisions for the third game as I expected UNC to exercise them. I'm surprised the contract isnt structured that UNC could cancel without penalty as long as we got our home game at Trask, which we did. Very glad the.contract is being fulfilled, just surprised because we got the contract due to McGrath exit

However we got it, a contract is a contract and is legally binding. It may have been a favor to McGrath, but it was a favor that was binding. I would be surprised if it even crossed the minds of anyone at UNC to get out of it, especially if they had already played the game at UNCW. It's not like this will be the first time we've played a game at UNC either.

Games get canceled and bought out all the time

Maybe they are looking at an opportunity to put a beat down on us as payback. With Roy gone it is not such a big deal Hubert got rid of any one who was not a UNCNN grad so the loyalty is probably not nearly as strong

Fair point

Cb was a Roy Williams guy not necessarily a UNC guy

Pretty sure everyone in the state of NC knows he was a Kansas player/grad who just followed his coach to UNC.

RE: 2021-2022 Men's Basketball
Sims made it official tonight that he is turning pro rather than returning to college for his COVID year. I can't say that I'm not disappointed. Although I knew the chances were slim, I still held out hope that he'd return to lead us once again. However, he went out a winner and a great Seahawk.

Not a very high % of guys get to finish their collegiate careers with a win. Definitely a very good way to go out.

I wish him the best of luck in his pro endeavors.

For sure! What an accomplishment!

Hope he finds a good landing spot as a pro.
