2021 Victor Lopez Bayou Classic
This year's Victor Lopez Bayou Classic will take place this coming Saturday, March 27. It is university only, as the high schools cannot compete on campus due to NCAA rules (recruiting "dead period" extends to May 1).

The hammer throw and discus will take place early, starting at 9:00 a.m. The bulk of the field events will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00, with the pole vault usually dragging on later.

The "A" sections of running events start at 5:00, and continue until the 10,000 takes place late.

Some of our athletes will be at the Texas Relays, which is the same weekend this year (due to the calendar, it's normally one week later).

And, no, as of this moment, I don't know whether or not a certain female athlete will be running here or in Austin.

Texas Relays

Women's Hammer Throw

7. Tara Simpson-Sullivan 62.61 meters (205' 5")

Disappointing effort - not only should she be throwing farther, but she had 5 fouls and only 1 legal throw.

But, remember the rest of both men's and women's teams (not Grace Forbes) will be at the Lopez Bayou Classic on Saturday.

The bulk of the field events take place in the 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. window, with running finals starting at 5:00 p.m.

So, after baseball, wander over to the track.

I think that 2nd link is wrong (it goes to some 2018 high school meet from Oregon). I believe this is the correct link for the live results.

Not the right situation to race a 10K (weather, lack of competition). There will be a better opportunity in the near future to get a qualifying time for NCAAs.

RE: 2021 Victor Lopez Bayou Classic
More from Texas Relays:

Women's Triple Jump "A"

3. Michelle Fokam 13.37 meters (43' 10½")

That is not a season's best - she's still #4 on the NCAA list.

Women's Shot Put "A"

6. Erna Gunnarsdôttir 16.25 meters (53' 3¾")

That IS a season's best, and she moves to #22 on the NCAA list.

These two women join Tara Simpson-Sullivan among the collegiate leaders in their respective events. One figures that soon, Grace Forbes will join them.
