That show came on while I was driving. I didn’t listen, but before I could punch the off button he mentioned this thread. He quickly added he hadn’t read it, but... I guess someone read it to him.

He stalks this board he has read this thing multiple times

I caught a few minutes. Said Hoop City Basketball was creating a Girls team so his daughter could play one day for them...I’m sure he was joking considering she was just born but still. He just always comes across as pompous, conceited ... I turned it off after about 10 minutes

Yep. And wait till Mike gets a college job. We will never hear the end of it. Martin probably hoped that Miller would get the job. Penny looks like he's in it to win it. But Martin is trying too hard to be a contrarian. I hate the snide shots that he takes but he shot them at Mike too. Of course we don't want an NIT championship but we rejoiced to see the team playing well and the best they have played since the Cal era. We are happy to have the hope that this team revealed. He should just Shut up, be happy

I doubt that Mike ever gets a college job again. He’s an agent now or going to be.

I miss Vernon.

Vinny Verno was the best....I'd literally carve out time in the day to go sit on the toilet and turn on the radio around the time Vinny's pick of the weeks came on. 5 star golden lock of the year! I wish he would come back.

His show is available on YouTube every day and the podcast is posted as well. They have topics listed me the minute they start so it’s easy to skip around and listen to what you want. I do miss Chris opening up the phone lines though.

Has Mike graduated from college yet? I seem to recall that being something that he was pursuing when he accepted the Memphis assistant coach job.

Well the comments about the NIT started weeks ago, before the conference tourney. It was what you would expect. He laughed at the NIT and said of course we should not accept a bid, since it's meaningless and since this team will be a big disappointment if we don't make the NCAA. Just let the season die, basically. Since, he has continued to mock the NIT with extreme sarcasm.

Monday, he gave the obligatory congratulations, but then went immediately back to the 6-5 start and how disappointing this team was. Then he said, "how long you fans going to celebrate an NIT championship?".

He took his medicine when callers came on, and he did not like it. Just sat there. The only time he got excited was when 1 caller (out of about a dozen) agreed with him. The caller said this team is like a 7-year old that pees on himself. You're happy when he quits peeing, but you're like, why were you peeing on yourself. Martin predictably found this hilarious. He didn't find it hilarious when all the others called him out as a hater.

He brings it on himself - intentionally or not.

Considers himself a sports guy and doesn’t realize that isn’t all it’s about. We (and hoops fans across the nation) got to watch our young team peaking over four straight games and it was beautiful. That’s what I’ll keep celebrating.

And the joy of our players...and our coaches for seeing this year through and never giving up. How long will I celebrate that...? a long. long time

Those who won't or can't enjoy the joy of others....need to try it. lol

Exactly. You'd think someone in his position would understand that. I've never been impressed with him.

He had fun mocking the team during early season struggles.
He said we should not accept a disappointing NIT bid.
He says fans should care less about the NIT, because it means nothing.

And the latest is his "update" this week on possible transfers. It's obvious he is still wanting to see Miller recruits leave, and is a bit resentful that Penny got some good recruits without Miller while keeping all his guys. He says Baugh can be a star in the SEC. He says Boogie is gone. And he said DJ is likely to leave, unless Penny wins him back. He mocked Deandre for being "old". He implied Nolley doesn't fit in with the team. He also said Dandridge is 50-50 right now on returning. LQ and Lomax are the only ones he said should definitely be back.

Reminds me of the Austin Nichols "0%" days.

I listened a few times. That's it. Thought he was a Chris Vernon wanna be and I don't like him either.
