Cajuns win the 4th game 7-0 to go 3-1 vs Coastal. Great matchup this weekend, but Cajun pitching proved to be the difference overall in the series. I don’t think Coastal will be down for long, they have plenty of talent on offense. I suspect we will see them making some noise in the conference Tourny.

I’m impressed with some of ULMs wins so far this season, that should be a great series for the Cajuns on the road in Monroe this weekend.

We played good ball in our 3 wins, they aren’t down. Their record is still 2 games better than ours after going 1-3.

Just to clarify something regarding the Coastal/UL series, officially only the Friday-Sunday games count in league play. Today was considered an OOC game. So in terms of league records the Cajuns are 2-1 and Coastal is 1-2

UALR gets the series win vs #22 SIU. Even the loss Friday was close till the end when SIU got a 3 run HR off Barkley. Trojans offense went nuts Saturday and Sunday. Saturday Arnold pitched fantastic. And Sunday, Decooman finally hot a good start and Barkley closed it out. Barkley has been just absolutely stellar sans Friday night. Friday had some encouraging pitching. True Freshmen, Weatherley pitched 3.2 with 4Ks 2 Hits and 1 Earned and had the inning ending double play ball hit the lazy ump. That gets him to a 3.38 ERA in 13.1 innings with 13 K. Not super impressive but slowly working him into to a larger role next season. Scored 22 runs last 2 games - 29 on The Weekend. Curry has the club improved and believing right now.

My guess would be money. We've typically streamed all softball and baseball home games but this year we're down to about half of them due to budget restrictions.

They added video as of yesterday. All three games will be on ESPN plus.

Cajun pitching held Coastal to a .165 team batting average over the four game series. And, I don't think the stomach bug was the reason. Coastal's hitters never made any adjustments during the series.

Those who watch the video from this series will note Coastal's hitters don't like spin....Especially the changeup against lefties.
