Archie is the clear guy here IMO.

But would the fanbase actually like the Archie hire?

This fanbase didn't like the Fickell hire and loved the Tuberville hire...I don't give a **** what the fanbase likes on a knee-jerk reaction anymore 03-lmfao

04-bow Post of the year.

I guess I was searching for an answer more along the lines of, would people think this is an upgrade. I did not really follow Miller at Dayton or Indiana, but it seems like he can recruit, which would be an upgrade.

Fickell was number 1 on my list of available football coaches, and will likely be the only time I'm right about a hire that UC makes.

Miller was 139-63 in 6 years at Dayton and his worst season in the last 4 was 26-11. Made an Elite 8, the 2nd round once, and the NCAAT in each of his last four years while winning two league championships...so essentially a very similar resume to Cronin in a very similar league (despite what many think, the AAC BB conference is on par with A-10/WCC at this point). I'd take him in a heartbeat, as he has shown he can be a consistent winner even if he didn't win enough at Indiana to stick he was still above .500 in each year and trending up before this wacky season. Add that to his regional recruiting contacts from 10 years of coaching within 120 miles of Cincinnati AND his ability to pull high level recruits and I'd be fine with him.

Upgrade? Who knows...probably not though because he was fired from Indiana, but truthfully, his record at Dayton is better than Brannen's at NKU, so couple that with his recruiting ability and NCAAT success and I'd say it is objectively. Indiana beat us for a lot of targets the last two years, so obviously they were looking at similar players for a relatively similar system.

Hope not. Huggins' tree has never been prolific, and Cronin has no tree.

MC said on Cunningham's show earlier in the week that Savino should have gotten the job.

He probably should have. None of us would have liked that but I bet the program would be one hell of a lot more healthy than it is now.

Would you rather Martin or NV? My guess is Martin given his college experience and recruiting backround.

Nick Van Exel who then hires Erik Martin as associate head coach.

What is the fascination with a guy who hasn't coached at all in 3 years, has been a head coach for a whopping 7 months, and watching the G-League, I'm using "coach" VERY loosely...I mean, come on guys, that's like asking Shaq Washington to be our head football coach when Fickell leaves.

He did a great job as acting HC. I was never much of a Cronin fan, but give credit where due.

I wouldn’t hire NVE to run a decent High School team. Love the guy but come on. People need to have their heads examined.

I have an idea...how about this time we actually, you know, perform a search and look at multiple qualified candidates to target the best one? The last hiring process was a complete sham that is still bearing fruit that tastes like crap.

Pretty sure NVE doesn't have a degree. Complete non starter in addition to being a bad idea.

I find it interesting that Cunningham is doing what he’s doing right now. He has no prior achievements/hires as an AD to fall back on so he is essentially tying his career as an AD to how this situation turns out.

I mean, isn't that kind of what every new AD has to do in their first job?

RE: UC Statement on Brannen
This started the day after UC returned from the conference tournament. This statement is a formality. Checking a risk management box set forth by counsel.

Brannen is a dead man walking. Which is why he hasn’t been in his office or made any social media posts in 2 weeks.

BTW, anyone seen his nutty wife on Twitter recently?

To an extent. He could have let it play out to next year and firing Brannen would be much more finicially feasible. And no one would have blamed him since he didn’t hire him.

Now he has essentially forced Brannen out. If his hire doesn’t work his career is in trouble.

Now either way his career was going to be tied to it, but this just amplifies it.

I’d buy tickets just to watch her froth at the mouth during games.

First question to potential recruits:
"Do you like dodgeball?"
