I'd bet based on the wording and timing it's separation.

IMO we are following the Wichita State playbook...leverage for a for cause showing...there will be a negotiated buyout and resignation to put a bow on this dog pile.

Start the coaching candidates thread.

It’ll be Bryce Drew, Archie Miller, and the guy from Belmont.

Add Erik Martin and I'm sitting with an 80% chance it comes from that group. Archie would probably be my favorite of the group (betting odds-wise). I think we try to stay away from scandal-ish hires if we fire one for a scandal-ish reason.

Wonder if we look at Matt McMahon as well.

Archie Miller is due $10.4 million over the next 3 years and to my knowledge has no offset for taking another job. Hello, backloaded contract.

That, ladies and gentlemen is how you afford a big buyout. Just apittballing but it almost makes too much sense.

There is a less than zero chance Beilein would consider Cincinnati...move along lol.

Archie is the clear guy here IMO, and I would be more than fine with that hire for both the reasons Rath laid out and the fact that he is a good coach who can recruit very well in this geographic area.

But would the fanbase actually like the Archie hire?

No, but I'd think he'd be an upgrade. If Beilein wants to coach I'd go all in on that

I’m not a fan of Miller but he’d likely be a Lexus to Brannen’s Hyundai.

This fanbase didn't like the Fickell hire and loved the Tuberville hire...I don't give a **** what the fanbase likes on a knee-jerk reaction anymore 03-lmfao

My guess is a new coach will come from the Huggins or Cronin tree.

I guess I was searching for an answer more along the lines of, would people think this is an upgrade. I did not really follow Miller at Dayton or Indiana, but it seems like he can recruit, which would be an upgrade.

Fickell was number 1 on my list of available football coaches, and will likely be the only time I'm right about a hire that UC makes.

Hope not. Huggins' tree has never been prolific, and Cronin has no tree.
