again not brendel's podcast, the skinny podcast, on April 11th where he was a guest ..they note at one point that they've heard rumors that Cunningham has been reaching out to prominent head coaches, they also talked about how he doesn't see frank martin happening with a recent extension, but likely some intermediaries have spoken...they say it might have all been leverage to get an extension. then speak of how crazy it would have been to even interview him

Yea I listened to that podcast at the time. One of the hosts is the NKU color guy and a huge Brannen guy. The other doesn't have any inside knowledge. Brendel didn't confirm any of those random rumors and speculations. You're really misrepresenting what was actually said.

Trumping up a fake letter of reprimand prior to the season laying out specific concerns and stressing the seriousness of John's conduct. What foresight to fake that before a game was played coming off a conference championship so they could come after him later.
Give it a rest.
As an attorney that's a great piece to have. There was no reason for UC to send that letter other than John's conduct and UC being very concerned about something that happened. In really undermines the idea that this was some sort of witch hunt.
who said anything about trumping up a fake letter???
and the biggest point was that him and Brannen never got along.. the reprimand might have had nothing to do with some long game firing.. but could be used as a tool for a contentious relationship
and the fact that it was worded that the medical staff had issues with his conditioning practices in November ... not "the medical staff has had constant issues with him overworking the players all season despite being reprimanded in November" ..shows that they is whole overrunning thing was just from November
my point you cant give me a reprimand in January, we move on from it...decide as my boss in august you want to fire me for other reasons, and then use January reprimand to fire me without severance .. i was saying the reprimand makes it worse as if it was for player safety without new incidents, why did you let him coach for 6 more months. you cant claim you just found out

who said anything about confirming... i said "they heard rumors"... that isnt saying he confirmed. saying you heard "rumors" isnt confirming anything ... you are the one misrepresenting what im saying, i said a UC insider notes theyve heard things , uc fans response was just to say "i dont believe" just because, while on a soap box about other people not willing to hear the other information

Now you are just making things up. UC never reached out to Frank Martin during the season. It just didn't happen and i'm not going to back and listen to every podcast as rebuttal. Cunningham had basically zero leaks during the hiring process - we didn't know Miller was a serious candidate until 2 hours before he was hired! The more items come out from freedom of information requests, it becomes more clear that Cunningham did an exemplary job navigating an incredibly difficult and sensitive process and made the absolute right decision in the end to send Brannen packing.
Your agenda is clear as day as you continue to use the word "abuse" knowing how explosive that word is.
lmao what agenda... uc fans have the agenda, as to buy anything UC posts as facts
also cunnigham is the one who made it a difficult situation.... he could have fundraised for the buyout...he could have spoken with brannen at any point to prevent all of it going public, the athletic aritcle was leaked from within the UC program, the lawyer didnt go public till then... you cant credit someone for choosing the extremely difficult path by choice and then barely surviving
and you literally hated the miller option for days prior to the hire, and I was having talks with you before he was hired about how he is a decent hire for how bad the UC situation is.. and i thought of th options linked he was the best one
also what L.. the L of not buying what UC is selling, that we all saw coming?

-2nd worst 3pt shooting in the entire Kenpom era at uc.
-2nd worst overall Kenpom rating In the Kenpom era for uc.

You pay a coach to leave after two seasons, one of which a pandemic season....then who the hell wants to take that job?
Am I crazy or was the situation that unfolded at UC was extremely atypical for a lot of different factors? Covid and transfer portal to mention a couple.
No real handbook to navigate that.

its worse to have a reputation where you try to destroy someones character to get out of contracts...rothstein, norlander, parrish have all spoken about how this is a terrible look for UC, some noted that coaches have taken note

I'll take the mea culpa on Miller. I didn't know enough about him and only looked at his team's kenpom results tbh. His tenure has certainly started better than Brannen's from a staff hiring (and rehiring perspective to bring back Rehfeldt).

Meh... we had plenty of good candidates in the mix for the opening. Plus, Rothstein seems to have an axe to grind ever since we didn't come to terms with Cronin on an extension. Rothstein has always been kind of a mouthpiece for Mick. By the time we need to make another big hire, the Brannen fiasco will be ancient history.

When half the roster opts for the transfer portal doesn't that call into question the coach's character?
And why do you keep trying to draw parallels? Basketball is not football. 2 seasons is not 3. And definitely not when 1 of those 2 was a Covid season.

1/3 of all d1 basketball players are in the portal...uc isnt even top 20 in players who entered the portal, not even top in the conference... the portal alone does not bring into question his character.... also i have no issue with you firing him, talking how its done..
again everyone already thinks you are firing him for performance.. it is not viewed as "performance" vs "players best interest"....the national perspective outside of UC circles (including coaching circles), is "performance and using cause to get out of the contract" vs "performance and paying his buyout"
your premise assumes people believe this was done to the betterment of the athletes, when no one not tied to UC believes that
