It says he redshirted (playing the limit of 4 games) in 2019. What's the 2020 story? I'm guessing he opted out due to COVID?

I see... I missed the "2020" in the tweet, and thought they meant he played really well in 4 games in 2019 and then not at all in 2020.

If you don't know who our 2nd best offensive player is, please don't comment.

Dang, that would be a huge loss. He is an absolutely fantastic player and had a huge career ahead of him here.

The transfer portal swings both ways.

No way to tell if this hurts the little guys more than the big guys yet. I still contend that it helps the big guys more when there is no penalty.

A successful player doesn't want to sit out a year to "upgrade" competition...But a player disgruntled over playing time will sit out a year for a new opportunity.

Hopefully, this isn’t a Spring practice indictment on the guys throwing him the ball.

I do not know, just an opinion based on interviews. I heard Coach Silverfield say some guys are taking other guys' jobs. Is this the case with Tahj? I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised at some players' sense of entitlement rather than battle for a position and not realizing the competition makes you better.

Nobody was taking Tahj's job. Freshman All American with over 700 yards receiving... Unless we have an NFL team set of wideouts on the roster he is leaving for a different reason.

True...I guess if he wanted to move to a P5 school he could have already done that.

Well, he did recently experience a change @ position coach.
But yeah, this is a real head scratcher.

The timing here is odd. It seems that something happened at spring practice for him to jump now.

just hoping we can keep ONE of DJ, Boogie or Nolley back. I'd prefer the local kid #1.

I've been wrong before. Yet, there is a lot of talent on this team, probably more than they've ever had. Shamar Nash and Cameron Wright are good tall receivers with decent speed. Tahj was a go-to guy when these guys weren't available. After all, Tahj, couldn't beat out Coxie before he left.

PS: Plus, White could get the ball to any open receiver.
