RE: Sad News.
Awful. I'm broken hearted. Oscar overcame so much in the last 2 years. He was graduating, moving forward. Such a tragic loss. Prayers up to his family and the entire GCU/WAC community. Hold those you love close. Love you all. 4️⃣

Devastating loss. I cannot believe it. He was just getting his life together and moving in the right direction. Praying for his family.

RE: Sad News
I woke up still sad and frustrated. No other media outlet or GCU has announced this. I'm frustrated with Kyle and wac sports digest. Who reports a young man's death with "sources". What sources? Hearing family members found out from his tweet. Awful. Be better.

Kyle is the media and his job is to report the news. You might not like it but he is doing his job.

Ugh Frank, he is not media. He's a blogger. He is not reporting a transfer or something. He is reporting a death of a kid that has still this moment yet to be confirmed by any media, his family, and the university. His source was a post by Jovan Blacksher's mom that came out five minutes before his post, a post that has since been deleted. This morning 1580 the Fanatic, GCU's flagship station read a statement from GCU saying they cannot confirm any of the information being shared on social media. They don't even know for sure what happened.
Even, if he had a direct source somewhere and this all true... You don't post BREAKING and cite sources for this kind of information. You let the family or the university say something first. Some of his family (cousins) are sharing on twitter that they found out about this from Kyle, not someone in their family. That's wrong.

It looks like Blacksher mother is the one you should be blaming. Don't you think?

No, that's so wrong of you to even say. If Kyle wants to play media then he should actually practice journalistic integrity and ethics by confirming the information with multiple sources, including family and authorities. It's obvious he did not just so he could be "first". That's the problem. Not that it was reported, but how. Be better.

In his tweet, he did say "according to sources", meaning multiple people in the know. Now, if he issued information before the Frayer family was notified then you have a point. But if he was just first before everyone else in the media, then he broke the information as it was given to him. Nevertheless, this is a tragedy.

Why all the bickering? A young man passed. Let's pray for him. Let's honor him. And let's move forward. Let's not argue and tarnish his legacy. Let's focus on the young man and not focus on how we found out about this tragic news.

Yes, you are right. I was a little emotional when I saw family members say they were upset that they found out from a social media account. This is a tragedy for all that know and love Oscar.
