RE: Transfer Portal and Tiger Schollies
I got curious about my impression that Nolley was our most reliable guard offensively by checking out how many 10 point games each of our scorers collected this year. It met my expectations and the up and down nature of each guy's season stood out in text almost as much as it did watching them play.

Nolley: 18 (64%)
Boogie: 15 (53%)
Lester: 13 (46%)
Jeffries: 13 (46%)
Baugh: Zero (0%)

All of them except Baugh played in all 28 games. ALo was 7 of 19 (36%) and at point forward, doing absolutely everything, DeAndre was a staggering 18 of 21 (85%).

They're all capable of having big nights and most of them are also capable of going several games in a row looking average at best. The vibes were a mess until late February so it was pretty obvious some of them would be looking for more open opportunities. I'm glad they have the chance to pursue their futures more freely now even if I'll miss seeing each of them in Memphis uniforms a lot.

And if we do end up with Lester, Landers, and DeAndre together on the floor next season we have a lot of wins coming our way. Wish we could keep the rest, or at least one of the rest, because they all have something to contribute. But that's the game now.

Not just the NBA.

It starts with testing NBA waters. They get the free feedback before having to decide anything. Then they decide whether to come back or "go pro" - which includes G League and international ball.

I expect Landers, Deandre, and Moussa will take advantage of this NBA feedback - regardless of transferring or other pro routes.

Those are the announcements to which I was referring.

I think Moussa has great potential, but if there was ever a player that needed to stay in college to improve their basketball skills, it's him.

What did Penny do? Got 2 of the best guys in the portal to transfer here. 2 of our best players this year.
I hate losing guys that we have watched through ups and downs the past 2 years - just when they are starting to get it.
But we'll be aight.

Who thought the sky fell in when Harris transferred?

Nobody

It’s just going to be a wild transfer year. I think we’ll get as good or better than we lose.
