Stan Heath in hot water -
Potentially this will be a problem......Hopefully the Golden Flashes add to his woes next week when we head to Tampa to face the Bulls.

USF is terrible, I'd certainly hope we can add to his woes.

Well, Stan made his money at Arkansas enough to last a lifetime, unless he squandered his money on liquor or gambling, or even women, which is what most people want nowadays but is denied to them by the pezzonovante of the Church.

Do a little research before you post. They are 3-1 and the loss was last night in a choke job to South Carolina. Their wins are against SMU, Virginia, and Davidson. They should be 4-0 and while those teams aren't "powerhouses" I am quite certain USF is not terrible.

Before I reply to this I should look up the pezzonovante. Hmm, not there on dictionary.com. Either way, my girl and I will be at mass this evening at 7:00pm. And now that issue 3 passed, we could even go out for a few drinks and some blackjack hands.

Sorry, I was going based on their record last year. They were terrible, that's for sure. I'm hoping that we will still put them away.

Stan was lucky to get the KSU job but he is no chump! Have you ever met him? He's a class guy all the way. If Stan hadn't gotten the Kent job he would have gotten another shot as a head coach as he was an important recruiter / solid assistant at Mich State.

Also, if Stan did not come to KSU, neither does Antonio Gates. That's a fact!

Before you shoot off your mouth you need to know what you're talking about!

He is like every choach that came to Kent with a bright smile, talking big things for the whole university, then skips out. I know, this gripe again. I remember talking to his wife after the 2nd home game of the year. They had big dreams of boosting marketing, brining fans into the games, getting big commercials on the radio in Ohio. She said Stan had planned to put an electronic advertising board in front of the MACC to announce when all games were. Look at what that got us? All those campaign promises got Stan bigger and better things, and Kent State gets jipped. I talked with Stan in Lexington after they beat Pitt. Sounded to me like the sky was the limmit for our school. Maybe it was before he sent his resume to Arkansas, I don't know.

Do you know anyone who would have turned down a multi-million dollar guaranteed contract from Arkansas to stay at KSU for $150,000 a year? I didn't think so.vSome people absolutley amaze me.

Stan probably did have big plans for Kent State. He also probably didn't expect to be sought after by college BB powers offering huge contracts after only 1 year at KSU.

So you know, Laing was very happy to get the $250,000 buyout $$ from Arkansas too. I think the women's softball field is nickmaned "Razorback Field" by athletic dept insiders...

"I like Kent" knows 1st hand what a classy and sincere guy Stan is, don't you?

Enough already.

To answer your first question, eventhough you think you answered it for me, I would turn down multi-million dollar contract to work for $150,000.
Call it what you like, I call it smoke screens. It probably would be different for you if he was talking directly to YOU about future plans.

If I truely wanted to coach a team no amount of money could take me away from it. If I ever get to coach kent state no lie I wouldn't leave for coach k money.

Stan Heath and his team provided me with a season of memories that will last as long as I live. Whatever personal stuff he has going on doesn't concern me other than to hope the best for him and for his family. But Christian remains my favorite coach. He got maximum results out of his teams, in my opinion.

Sooner or later most such coaches end up back in the mid-majors - Heath, Waters, Christian et. al. I don't deny that the money is a factor, a big factor. But, I believe it is ego and prestige just as much as money. After all, even the typical mid-major salary is at least in the top 10% of all wages in the United States, and many are even in the top 5%.

I'm with you in this one - still that last game under JC was a huge disappointment - I thought it was a winnable game and that was one of the best teams we've had in years.

Double down the second the ball enters the post. If you’re not quick enough to get there....enter the transfer portal.

Perhaps ... but much like Kent's 1999 NCAA team with a lot of young players at key positions. Mincy, Singletary, Sherman were all freshmen and sophomores. I still get the shakes thinking of Mincy dribbling upcourt, unguarded, and gets a 10-second call. Al Fisher, Q and MScott were too much for the MAC, but not enough 3-point shooting to hang on the big stage.

Personally, I think that 2011 E8 NIT team could have been sneaky good in the NCAA Tournament; JGreene, JManns, MHenniger, Sherman, Holt, Porrini, Guyton, Eric Gaines was arguably one of the deepest KSU teams since 2002. Not enough consistent 3-point shooting on that team, either. But they could be streaky good.
