Two big FCS games today
Two top-10 matchups this week:

#6 South Dakota State @ #5 Southern Illinois

#2 North Dakota @ #4 North Dakota State

Both on ESPN+.

If Georgetown is losing, I'll probably switch over to the SDST/SIU game, LOL.

BTW, more that 25%, 9 of 35 scheduled games this week, have been postponed or canceled due to the virus. Not sure how that compares to FBS in the Fall.

RE: Two big FCS games today
All 3 Patriot League games were cancelled this weekend. Well, technically the league tried to replace Holy Cross vs Fordham with Holy Cross vs Lehigh II before that was also kiboshed; so 4 total games were axed....

I'd be perfectly content if they called the spring season and focus on the fall. Holy Cross will remain the favorite....

You won't be switching over, my friend, as your Hoyas are going to roll to victory!

ESPN2 is showing Jackson State vs. Alabama State.

Yep. Some were saying ESPN would not put FCS on their cable channels.

I doubt if they planned to show spring FCS games on ESPN2, but this is Deion Sanders. Deion's team is 3-0, and they're programming against the tournament. There's some interest. When I saw this thread, I put it over there for a few minutes. Good stuff.

I hope Deion does well.

It was an excellent game! Back and forth, with Alabama State scoring late in the 4th quarter then holding off a last-minute Jackson State drive down the field to win 35-28.

Maybe the best FCS game of the season so far.

As a fan of Southern University, a big rival of Jackson State's, I am envious of the attention Neon Deion is bringing to the Tigers. I totally agree, no Deion and that game wasn't on ESPN2.

In contrast, my SU Jags are playing Texas Southern right now, and I can't get the game, it's only being shown on something called "AT&T Sportsnet Southwest" channel in the greater Houston area. Nuts to that!

Still unstable for a school that wears navy/white for as long as I recall with red as a very secondary color

NDSU makes a statement against their rivals from Grand Forks! I had UND #1 on my AGS ballot...

South Dakota State dominated SIU...didn't see that one coming...

That's true. I have been watching Jackson State football since 1995, and do not recall them ever wearing a red-heavy uniform. Their uniform colors are Navy and white.

Tarleton put up a big number vs NMSU a month or so ago. It was pretty big!

RE: Two big FCS games today
BTW, perennial champ ND State flexed muscle yesterday, beating #2 and rival North Dakota 34-13.

These teams have played 113 times. It was an annual game until 2003, when ND State moved up to FCS from Division II and its prior equivalent where both had historically resided. ND moved to FCS in 2008, but the series will now be played annually again now that both are in the MVFC.

Historically, from 1937 - 2003, they played for the Nickel Trophy, a 75-pound replica of a Buffalo Nickel.

I'm sorry but you can't make this argument as a New Mexico State fan.
