Well he was the leading scorer, shot a team high 81% from the line, 37% from 3, made the most 3's on our team, was 3rd in steals, and 5th in rebounds and assists.

Loyola is ranked #9 in kenpom but an #8 seed in the tourney...
Happened to him here with St. Louis as well.
Also had his best player put with Covid
Yes, and player of the year in the ACC too.

UTK had a bad draw against Oregon State plus they have a terrible post-season coach.

How does one player have COVID and played with the team on Saturday...
And the entire team is able to play today without anybody else ineligible due to contact tracing. That seems odd.

Funny Nolley played with him last year... Nolley surely underachieved this year at Memphis considering he came to Memphis with great stats from Virginia Tech..
he is the only Tiger to make 1st team All-AAC.
Soph with no camp and a season long search for a point guard in a screwed up year.
12.6 pts per game 3.9 reb per game
81.8% F/t and 37.2 % from the 3
Played the most average minutes per game.
I'll take this kind of underachiever every year.
2020
37.0 FG%
31.6 3PT%
78.0 FT%
2021
41.2 FG%
37.2 3PT%
81.8 FT%
Keep in mind, that the poster that posted this, was too frail to keep watching the Houston game after half time. That is who is claiming that Nolley underachieved.

It sure does suck compared to Penny's. You also (conveniently) failed to mention that they were missing Wright, who averaged 17.4 points, 8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and shot 41% from outside.

Nah. When I looked at some his games and stats when he said he was coming here, he didn't have the same level of talent around him. So he was doing more work than he had to do here.
Statistically at VT he was 1st in scoring and only one other person was in double digits and the third person was at 8.8ppg. With Memphis he was first in scoring with two others averaging in double digits and two more at nine or higher.
At VT he was second in rebounds and assists, while at Memphis he was fifth in both.
I see his drop as mainly due to being around better players that kept him from needing to do everything.

Wright would've made a difference, certainly. I don't think GT had a single offensive rebound all day, which is unbelievable. Loyola made big shot after big shot in the second half, and deserved to win. Josh made the NCAA and I salute that. I don't think many expected that to happen this season.

I live in Michigan. Tom Izzo's hometown. In fact, six blocks from where he grew up. Longtime family friends, etc. Except for the Wolverines, I HATE the Big Ten. It just galls me to see that league get nine bids and, with the exception of Michigan, I will be happy to see them all get beat.

This kid was a 2-star recruit coming out of high school LOL.. That's an amazing development for a sophomore.

Totally. Their coach, Porter Moser, was an assistant for Rick Majerus at St Louis.

It was coach Roy’s first loss in the first game of the ncaa tournament. I was kind of surprised .
