This basketball season reminded of the last time FB went down to tOSU. If ever there seemed like an opportunity--that was it. Sorry to hear about Acunzo leaving. Hopefully coach can bring in some more guys on the level of Rollins. If he got one he can get another.

RE: Acunzo Transferring
I'm gonna take the otherside there RP. In my view (same poop value) Acunzo was growing and growing fast. His ability to back down a defender and get around on post moves was beyond Shumate. He was demonstrating more inside-outside skills and has more inherent bulk than Shumate. Acunzo would have given us match-ups that Shumate may not grow into. Jakobi is also a face-up player. Trying to turn him into a post and I believe he will leave, same a Acunzo. The new post recruit is very raw, with no state competition in which to get good relative measure. He may be years from doing anything but be a statue. Not even his highlights show him in post.

The value of a good post? Take a peak at Chicago Loyola. Mind you, they got the top of the state. Not a three point shot in his repertoire and a younger backup needed for practice and continuation. This idea that a mid-major, even a MAC "guard league" is going to get through a tournament without a true post, I don't get that.

I’m all in favor of Epperson’s kid coming here. We’ve got a scholarship waiting.

How many injuries and surgeries has he had?

RE: Acunzo Transferring
It seems to me that some think TK is abandoning the use of a center. That is not the case. Playing "small ball" was a one-time thing this season out of necessity (Komagum and Maranka were not able to replace Edu after his injury). Edu will be the center (yes, I know we don't know for sure how he will play after 2 years off). Carcoana will be the center of the future. Most MAC level 6-10/6-11 guys are not ready to contribute right away. There is still the possibility of bringing in a transfer for depth inside.

Next years roster (so far):

Moss 2/3 Fr
Hill 1 Fr
Rollins 1 Fr
Farmer 2 FR
Wilson 2/3 Fr
Jocobi 3/4 FR
Eyborsson 4 FR
Shumate 3/4 Jr
Milner 3/4 Jr
Edu 5 So
Carcoana 5 Fr
Saunders 2/3 So

That's 12

One spot open for Little

Did Maranka definitely transfer/portal?

Any corrections?

I'm not sure how the scholarship numbers for Littleson and MJ would be. I think d/t the NCAA exemption for COVID that next year the 13 number could be adjusted for those whose eligibility termed out could still play. Thus they wouldn't count against the 13 limit as in football it doesn't count against the 85 limit.

Thanks for response... Yes - this has been hashed out pretty thoroughly.

I would guess that we get Little as a grad transfer and get Littleson back for '22. Keeping fingers crossed. I know Littleson wants to coach. I can see him taking Lauf's current position with Lauf advancing if a staff opening occurs.

Go Rockets!

If Emmanuel Little (6-6 215) comes aboard, you would have a nice 9-10 man rotation with 3 freshman redshirting (Wilson, Jacobi, Eyborsson) would be my guess... That would be a very solid NCAA tourney worthy team...

Wow, so other than that being back in PA, what's the lure for RMU over UT? Was something else going on behind the scenes?

If you're redshirting freshmen without them wanting it, you're asking for transfers.

RE: Acunzo Transferring
robert morris is now in the horizon league and a half step down from UT in terms of level of play and facilities. acunzo should get a shot to start. their best big man is in the portal and they don't have a lot coming back although they have a couple other pretty well rated recruits coming in, including justin winston who is a similar 3/4 hybrid player with range who had some success at st bonaventure before transferring. RMU is in the Pittsburg area where acunzo went to high school after leaving sardinia.

At least I will get to see him play at Wright State and see if he develops into a very good post in this league.

Great! What an exciting place to land and much better than I think most of us (well me anyways) gave him credit. D1 program and will get to see a different part of the country and he travels around on road games. Their roster can definitely use some experienced height.

Best of luck!

Komagum should be fine. Seemed like a hard worker and good teammate, just didn't have the offensive game for our system and was a little light for a line-up where he didn't have anyone with beef on him to help defend the interior. Sac State is nothing special, no one goes to California to go to Sacramento, but it's D1 and offers some opportunity. Komagum really improved from year 1 of juco to year 2 and I'd expect him to grow into a solid low major big man before he's done.

Pure speculation on my part but TK was interested in this 6'11" 245lb transfer, Jack Nunge, from Iowa when he was coming out of high school.

Nothing special? When did you become Debbie Downer? Komagum stuck the landing here. Athletically they have a need for exactly his area. Very good academics, living in an urban environment with pro sports, close to the coast and his league will take him to some of the wide open areas of this country.
