He and his Santa Monica teammates were running in an All Comers meet I was in at Rice University in the 80s.

I am impressed if you were in the same meet. I never saw Carl Lewis live, so I had to leave him off the list.

Hockey - Alex Ovechkin - I can't remember any of the other teams players.
Baseball - Mark McGwire/Jose Canseco/Rickey Henderson. They were all on the same team, the A's in the early 90's
Football - Michael Vick
Golf - Arnold Palmer

I would say Rickey Henderson was considerably better than McGwire or Canseco.
